Sportsbooks increase limits closer to gameday. If the line is going to move it will be as we get closer to the game and they start taking bigger and bigger bets. Big money players that want New England might be waiting to see if they can get another half point or so. If I was betting New England I’d probably wait it out. Simply put, if they haven’t moved the line yet it’s because they don’t have action that warrants it.

all i've been hearing are the big bets coming in on the patriots. and sharp money. the line should be down to -3.5 but it isn't.

The first 7 figure bet of 1.1 million on the patriots was a hedge by a guy with massive future tickets on Seattle. When a book takes a big bet on a hedge I don’t think they’re quite as inclined to move the line. I don’t think they look at that the same as a respected sharp player making a bet, but I could be wrong. I don’t think you’re going to see 3.5 again on this game. If so it’s probably not until game day. Mike Palm VP of Circa made a comment today on FTM that the handle on the game has been disappointing so far and that it’s trending towards being a “down year” for the overall handle. He also made the comment that it’s still early and they expect to take large bets closer to the game.
I think everyone is expecting some sort of line move because apparently everyone on the planet is on Seattle. In reality I just don’t think that’s the case. Sportsbooks are going to operate according to overall handle and liability. If they need to move the line they’ll do it. If they don’t move it, it’s because it’s not warranted. They’re not trying to trick anyone, rather business as usual.

Wisemen could've easily set the opening line at -3.5 -4 but you know them greedy bastard want those extra apple juices from the noob scare money players hahaha

I haven't really seen the over/under move off of 45.5 is worth mentioning as well.
Is anyone getting numbers above or beyond 45.5?
Just curious...thanks in advance ![]()

@BitcoinBandit
No doubt about that it should’ve moved. At least up to a full touchdown imo. But the problem with opening the line at -14.5 is it cause lopsided action on the patriots. Bottom line not adjusting the line appeared to be suspect and a sneaky maneuver whatever the reason may be.
