But since he's a long-suffering fan of his hometown Chicago Bears, Obama says he can't have "too much sympathy for the Lions." The Bears had a losing season and missed the playoffs.
Obama told The Detroit News in an interview Tuesday that he couldn't remember a case in which a referee's "good call" was "reversed without explanation."

Detroit was ahead 20-17 midway through the fourth quarter of Sunday's game when a referee flagged the Cowboys for pass interference. But officials rescinded the call moments later, leaving the Lions facing fourth-and-1. Detroit punted, and Dallas then drove to the winning touchdown for a 24-20 final score.
Obama said he watched the game and told the newspaper that he couldn't "remember a circumstance in which a good call by one of the refs is argued about by an opposing player of the other team with his helmet off on the field, which in and of itself is supposed to be a penalty. The call is announced and then reversed without explanation. I haven't seen that before. So I will leave it up to the experts to make the judgment as to why that happened, but I can tell you if I was a Lions fan I'd be pretty aggravated."
Obama was interviewed before his scheduled Wednesday visit to the Ford Michigan Assembly Plant in Wayne, Michigan, to tout a resurgent U.S. auto industry following the federal bailout.
In the interview, the president also lamented the Bears' poor performance.
"Given the performance of my Bears, I can't have too much sympathy for the Lions," Obama said. "You guys were in a lot better position than we were. I'd love to have your defense right now."

who cares .No ones even talking about the call anymore there talking about how that crap franchise in Detroit has a QB who is now 0-18 on the road against wining teams ,There talking about how they have a washed up RB in reggie Bush ,There talking about how this dirty defense again choked and let Dallas score 23 points when down by 14 .They are talking about how they scored only 3 points in a second half ,they talk about how Calvin Johnson again has no impact on a meaningful game. How about the Marvin Lewis type coach they have that punts the ball at a crucial time in the game and again like Lewis has his team under perform like they did the week before letting up 30 to a hobbled Rodgers . The Lions with Caldwell like Cincy will never sniff any success till they totally rebuild and get themselves a real coach like Areans, like Carroll,like Belly ,Even Jason Garett and John Fox are better coaches than the coordinator they have as there head coach .Theres a reason why ,there home field means nothing ,that dome produces no 12 man ,and like the city needs a total rebuild from the ground up

If you vote along party lines, and it's evident you do then there is not much to explain.
Yes a large majority of Americans are stupid.
90 percent are too stupid to realize that we do not live in an actual democracy.
We live in a plutocracy.
Your vote along with mine means absolutely nothing.
It is the large corporations such as health insurance companies who decide what is best and which laws shall be passed.
If you believe the politicians you love so much have your best interest at heart then you should seriously have yourself committed.
