Patriots vs. Chargers

  Since week 8 the Chargers Defense has allowed 92 RYPG / 3.7 YPC  and 187 PYPG / 74 QB Passer rating. The Chargers play a lot of zone coverage and Maye has much better numbers vs Man. I like The Charger DC Jesse Minter, he is good at disguising coverages and blitz packages, he often makes it difficult for QB's to process and the 74.3 Passer Rating to opposing QB's is something to talk about.  This will be the toughest Defense that the Pats have seen all season and I don't think it goes well.  I like Drake Maye, he is going to be great for a long time but this will be his 1st playoff start vs the toughest defense he has seen in a long time.  

  The Chargers O line gets some pieces back LT Salyer and RG Becton are back and should help. Herbert has taken a beating this year and he continues to get up and rise to the occasion.  Herbert has shown some serious grit and toughness that the whole team has rallied behind.  The Pats D is not great at generating pressure and that works out well for Herbert.  The Pats Run Defense has also declined throughout the season.  In the 1st 9 games they only allowed 76 RYPG / 3.6 YPC, in the last 8 games they have allowed 132 RYPG / 4.8 YPC.  

Give me Harbaugh and Herbert with the better Defense.

I'm against you in this one Lucky, but only in the 1H. So we can win both.

Maye is in fact worse vs zone than man, but it's miniscule. 

Competition % vs man is #2 at 67.2%

Competition % vs zone is #2 at 74.5%

The dip is in QBR...

Vs man #1 at 128.8

Vs zone #4 at 103.1

Still top 5, and if he's getting a steady dose of zone(which he should), at least he'll know what's coming all game.

I'm a big Drake Maye fan, I seriously think that he's the next big time QB in the nfl for years to come.

 I agree I think Maye is great and only going to get better.  I can’t get that 2nd half  vs the Bills out of my head where the Bills rattled him a bit and he started to hit the panic button and miss throws.  I think DC Minter and the Chargers can do the same.
