On another note, this reminded me that my grandparents had one of those 1960's wooden console TV's that weighed about 250 lbs.(Google it kids)
When the built-in TV conked out, they would just place a new TV set on top of the console.
They continued to do this well into the 90's...

COOL STORY... I MET BART STARR AT LIL ABNER'S STEAK HOUSE IN TUCSON IN THE LATE 90'S. WHEN HE WALKED IN I ASKED ALL MY FRIENDS AND EVEN THE BARTENDER IF THEY KNEW WHO THAT WAS AND THEY ALL SAID NO. I SAID THAT MAN RIGHT THERE WON THE FIRST SUPER BOWL AND THE BARTENDER/MANAGER PLUS MY FRIENDS SAID BS. SO I SAID, CARE TO MAKE IT INTERESTING? I BET THE MANAGER OUR TAB AND MR. STARR'S TAB THAT HE IS WHO I SAID AND THE MANAGER GAVE ME A T SHIRT AND SAID IF YOU GET THIS SIGNED MY TAB AND STARR'S IS ON THE HOUSE. I WENT UP TO MR. STARR AND SAID EXCUSE ME MR. STARR BUT IF YOU SIGN THIS SHIRT DINNER IS ON THE HOUSE. HE SAID SIT DOWN SON AND SIGNED, "C, THANK YOU FOR DINNER. BART STARR" I GAVE THE SHIRT TO MY DAD A LIFE LONG PACKER FAN.
