ya ya i know hedging is for the weak but i could use the extra money right now.
I have an 11 teamer for 1.40 that pays 1501, i have the first 9 teams in and have Baltimore + 3 1/2 and Over 47 in the Philadelphia game as my last 2 legs.
Since im only in for 1.40, what is the best way to get the maximum profit out of this by betting the other sides?

hes right. if you really need the money and are not confident in the last two legs you should put 500 on each.
I'm obv way too high, but how does that guarantee him $500? If Pitt covers tonight, he is down $500 and still alive. And then if Under covers tomorrow, he is even and loses ticket.

Question. If there was any chance at all of you hedging, I'm curious why you didn't just pick a 9-teamer parlay. If so, you'd already have your "guaranteed profit" and could not bet what you wanted on these final two legs.
Every Covers member should be required to memorize the following: If you find yourself in a position to hedge, you've already made a fundamental error. And if you end up hedging, you end up compounding that error.

Well, u lost on PIT, but the big bet is alive. So you are minus 200 now with a chance to win 1500. Bet enough to at least guarantee covering the lost money you lost on Pitts.

In terms of the fundamentals and math of the hedge, yes it is a bad play. But what I don't understand is people don't see two things when it comes to hedge..
First thing is middling? I had a 8 teamer today with Pitt -140 something I beieve, If I got Balt at 3.5 I could middle easily and win both bets. The chance to guarantee profit and then middle at the same game feels awesome happend to me twice. I make these plays all the time knowing what the line is already on a sunday night or monday night. Works for me
The other is not much thought but basically line movement, if I bet a spread and the line moves 2 even 3 points I can bet the opposite spread and cover that way as well, I love hedging can't tell you the amount of times I miss the last one

Ryan where the heck were you earlier when I was trying to hedge my teaser bets, see previous posts. Fortunately I lost my hedge bets and won my parlay!
