Had 2 good years is all in 21 and 22 -- rest were average or losing with last 2 just miserable -- Let AJ Brown go which was huge mistake as their offense was 1 dimensional and easy to stop --- defense was one of the worst

And seemingly always with a subpar roster and many injuries.
Anyone know his ats record? It has to be good.
The dude knows how to muck up a game vs anyone. His in-game decisions and clock management are superior to most coaches.

I heard that Harbaugh's agent is talking to the Chargers.
If Belichick is out at NE, how does Vrabel not go there?

This past season was a clear rebuild year along with injuries ...and he won some big game..Dolphins and Jags to end the season...This season should not be held against him.

@davemsh
9-7 is average and year in and year out that division is one of the weakest there is -- should have done much better. Deserved to get fired

Vrabel spent six seasons with the Titans and finished with a 54-45 regular-season record, going 2-3 in the playoffs. He led the club to a pair of AFC South titles and the conference title game following the 2019 season, a loss in Kansas City. Both of the playoff wins under Vrabel came that season.

44-41-2 not counting this year.

That is not correct...he was 54-45 with the Titans in 6 years...

So what opportunity would be a step in a better direction than he just left? I wouldnt want to go from one mediocre situation to one that is worse or the same. I also dont see why Jimmy would leave Michigan for a bad setup in the NFL, he had a sweet gig in SF and that didnt work out, why would he go to a tough situation where he isnt the spotlight and highly revered?

Insane they fired him great coach. Think of all the crap coaches in the league who never get fired
hopefully he goes to a team with talent. If so he will do great again

He was a trash coach. Mediocre at best. It blows my mind when people refer to Vrabel as being a "good coach". He took over a middling team off of two straight winning seasons and coming off a playoff win in K.C. and turned them into a middling team. They're record got slightly better for a few years but they were never a threat in the AFC. No more a threat than they were in the previous two years. He didn't draft well. What stand out player did he draft besides AJ Brown? One guy in like 6 years?! He really didn't develop talent. Derrick Henry was Derrick Henry in college. He got a couple good years out of Tannehill but he had flashed potential in Miami. He didn't install a noteworthy offense or defense. In the end he was essentially a .500 coach with a losing playoff record.

@StumpTownStu
The issue with Vrabel was that he bumped heads with the gm all the time. And the gm had more say so in their drafts than Vrabel.
Vrabel got wins out of a squad that weren't necessarily his guys.
I honestly don't see how Vrabel could of gotten more wins out of with what he had. Especially with the amount of injuries the Titans seemed to have year after year. And Tannehill was the qb there for the last 5 years.

Consistent YES! Disciple YES! but this dude is not a god football coach, no creativity at all, run this same 1980 playbook, maybe if Titains have a Super Bowl roster, but for a team in rebuild I believe they need a younger coach with a 2025 mindset

Sometimes you have to cook with what's in the kitchen. He inherited a roster that had some talent and had been in the playoffs the prior year. He made them slightly better for a few years, in record, but then they got worse. They went to the AFC Championship one year but we're bounced in one game in his other two playoff appearances. He essentially took a mediocre team and made them mediocre, and then bad. He wouldn't be the first coach to differ with management and that is no excuse. He lacked experience. He was a defensive coordinator for one year, of a bad Texans team with a mediocre defense. He was hired on the hype that he played for the Patriots, as if this meant he could replicate the Patriot way. It was not to be. He isn't a good coach by any measure and I'm flabbergasted that anyone would attempt to make a point otherwise.
