Miami/Pitt weather

in the past, anytime Miami went above the Mason-Dixon line to play in December or January they were an automatic fade. With the premise of warm weather teams struggle in brutally cold conditions.

Tonight at kickoff it will be 17 with an 8 mph wind out of the North.

Does this no longer apply?

i'm going over 42 huge, Tua will be good for 2 td's for his team and 2 for Pitt 

He's from Hawaii. Can't deal  with  cold. Can only  beat teams with losing records. Should  be  easy. Pitt ml tua will get crushed  as usual. All miami  does is get ur hopes  up in December 4a playoff run only  to  get beatdown in December and not make  it...again and again....

Meanwhile, Miami plays cold weather teams in their division every year during this time of the year.  All the way when Bob Greise played and Csonka and Kiick. Lets not forget their division, New England, NY Jets, Buffalo. Vegas thinks Miami has a good chance. Line only - 3.

Tagovailoa is 0-5 when the temperature is below 40 degrees, 1-6 when it’s 45 or colder, 2-8 at 50 or below, and 4-13 under 55 degrees.

 That is pretty strong. I’m going Pitt although the line looks a little shady. I think it should be 5-6. 

The Dolphins arrived in Pittsburgh on Saturday in order to take a day to practice in the snow and cold. Will that help? I don't think it can hurt. Now Steeler RB Warren is listed as questionable with an illness. 
The media has been pimping the weather angle so be careful in this one. 

Tua's record in Cold Weather: 

Below 45 degrees he is 0-8 as a starter

Tonight in Pittsburgh at kickoff the weather will be 14 degress (feels like 4) with wind 8 to 10 mph. 

Aaron Rodgers Record in games below 32 F is 28 - 8 regular season and 6-3 in the playoffs. His overall win % is 67% but jumps to 78% in freezing temps. He thrived in Green Bay in the cold.

 Rodgers has only played for Pittsbugh this season so no real trends to identify; this season Rodgers is 7 w and 6 losses, he did beat the ravens December 7th and the temp was about 40 degrees, Pittsburgh lost in Detroit on November 30th and it was roughly 55 degrees in the dome, so he has not played alot this season for Pittsburgh in the elements.

 Steelers haven't played Detroit this season. Scheduled for Dec. 21st in Detroit . They played Buffalo Nov 30th in Pittsburgh. Just a tad off here. 

Per Stathead's data, Miami has an all-time record of 25-47-1 in outdoor games when the temperature is 40 degrees or colder. The last time Miami won a cold weather game was in 2016 when they beat Buffalo in over time.

 you’re correct not sure where I got that I went over all the other stats and they’re all accurate and I have sources so the rest is correct but thanks for pointing that out

Miami has defeated the Jets last week December 7,  34 to 10 in New York however it was 41°

I think people overestimate the effect weather has.  Whether too hot or too cold, scores still go flying high.  Look at BUF @ NE.  It was snowing and they combined for 66 points.

Only time I'd consider weather is if it's windy as hell, or raining super hard.  Normal rain doesn't even matter with the ball sticking to WRs gloves.  It has to be pouring so hard or so windy that the rain makes the ball not travel as far through the air, or makes it fly off course.

Feels like the field being covered in snow/wet grass just means the offense has more of an edge because defenders can't cut direction as easily to keep up with the offense that is 1 step ahead.

Despite the weather trends against Tua, I am taking Miami +4 (bought a half pt)
