BOL Brother hope you have a Monster year
I have to disagree...I would want better odds than 12-1....double it to 24-1 .......

I agree if Sanchez slumps from what he did last year the Jets won't win 8 games.Sanchez has to be much better this year for the Jets to be champs.Great team with a question mark at qb.

I placed the same wager so good luck to us. It's not surprising that most do not agree. With Superbowl predictions, or predicitions on a team to win a championship in any sport, it's often difficult to agree because there are 31 other teams to choose from. It's so easy to say a team won't win it.
There is no reason the Jets can't win it and I have not heard a legitimate reason why they cannot. And no, hype is not a reason. I hear it so much..."this team is so hyped." So what. Does that mean they can't win it? No! The hype is deserved. We know what the Jets problem was LY....no passing game. People talk about a Sophmore slump for Sanchez but it's not like he had a good year. Tied for 2nd in ints, team was 31st in passing yards per game, was 29th in comp. percentage, 24th in TD passes so I don't know how much worse he can be....IMO there is only one way to go for him and that is up. It was this lack of a passing game that prevented NYJ from going further and despite this they still made it to the AFC Championship game. Now Sanchez has another year of experience under his belt and the services of Santonio Holmes and an experienced RB in LT. They may not win it, but again, there is no reason to say they can't.

My initial strong gut instinct was that the Jets would take a step back in 2010. Between Sanchez possibly regressing in his second year, the team on a whole losing that element of surprise, losing a couple key veterans to free agency, picking up some questionable guys in free agency, Revis stirring up shit, some of the new egos fitting in, etc etc.
The more I look at them, the more I am changing my mind though. They had a very limited draft, but I think Kyle Wilson is gonna be a star and take Cromartie's spot by 2011, and Joe McKnight was a steal in the 4th round and a perfect fit in that offense. Ducasse supposedly has been looking awesome as well(tough shoes to fill though no matter how good he plays).
Looking back at last year, Sanchez played incredible ball after that terrible mid season run he had. He was handcuffed in an offense where he wasn't allowed to do shit, and all he did was play smart poised football and made almost every throw the last couple months of their season. I think he can only improve.
They have three horses at RB, a very good offensive line, and a talented group of wideouts(especially when and if Holmes can do his thing after his suspension). Wildcat is always a possibility with Brad Smith being moved all around. Obviously they have a nasty defense.
Regarding schedule, they have some VERY winnable road games with Buffalo, Denver, Detroit, Cleveland, and Chicago. Their toughest games are pretty much all at home where you want them to be with NE, Cincy, Houston, GB, Minnesota, and Baltimore.
I don't know. I rarely go against my gut, but I fail to see how they don't go AT LEAST 10-6 and make a strong Super Bowl run.

basically and 8-8 team last season after Indy (and cinci really) gave them a W at the end of the year...2 nice playoff wins, but not ready to put them at the top this year....Jets D is nasty, but in a QB league i dont know
