Do any of the posters look at the match up page on covers. This is great info on stats. Yards, Turn overs etc.
And if you look at it, GB beats baltimore per those stats.
what made all of you choose baltimore against a team like GB at Home?
I am not trying to talk shit, just trying to figure out why you chose that team. When looking at the stats GB is clearly the better team?
I wanted to put money on GB for the ML but the only good reference to these two teams playing before was back in 08. So I backed off.
This forum is a great source for guys like me that are just learning about betting on football. so when a good majority of poster post "Baltimore!!!! 3.5" all the way!!! and don't explain the reasoning behind IT... confuses the fuck out of me.. <--- easily confused.
I am not trying to start a pissing contest or anything like that. WE ARE ALL HERE TO MAKE MONEY. So if we all can explain sometimes why we pick this team over that team it would be great.

Ravens easily win this game if they dont turn the ball over in the endzone and go up 21-17
It sounds like it was a good game. I was at work and only got nfl score updates.
I figured it would be tough. Ravens are known for thier D. and both teams playing for a wildcard spot. Good stuff. In a tough game like this turn overs make the difference I think.
Ravens have 1.2 turn overs vs GB's .09 <-- from print sheet.

1. do your own homework. as you did in looking up the match up page.
2. follow your own heart and instinct, so if you win or lose...you can yourself.
3. try to find out what Mr.Bator is doing. seriously, the guy is still go with #2...but sometimes it feel's good to know if your heart is telling you lies.
4. FADE Brandon Lang. I don't know who the fuck he is, but many a folk around here (who I think pay the douche) want to lynch him.
5. keep a notebook of things you pick up and learn every week. it will fill quickly, trust me. keep track of those who bring good insight to the table.
6. take nothing you hear on here personally. we are all invisible imaginary people that have no bearing on your person, and realize its a forum for gambling, not a place for free $. every week, you can find someone who will agree or disagree with you.
7. have fun. and don't chase your tail.
GB at home in DEC against an ed reedless D was not a hard pick.

The score was 27-17 when your namesake threw the pick in the end zone. Theres no way they could have gone up 21-17. In addition, this game was a blow out made deceptively close by a freak pick off Driver's leg and a fumble in BAL territory that were cashed in for TDs. BAL had 185 total yards of offense and got dominated on both sides of the ball. They werent 'easily' going to win anything last night.

I love how you post this AFTER the game is played. I guess if the ravens won you wouldn't have posted it huh?
Next time throw in your 2 cents BEFORE the freaking game, not after and act like a "know it all" pretty easy to say why did you pick the Ravens after they lose.

oh boy, the final was 27-14 kiddo....it was 24-14 and balty was on the 1 yard line 1st and goal and flacco threw a pick....ravens got the ball back on about their own 40, and flacco threw another pick and BG got a seal the deal FG to make it a 2 TD game again, please get your facts straight before you make silly posts

the pack would have never gone down 21-17 as they were up by 10(24-14) when flacco threw the pick....Flacco could have made it a 3 point game though if he threw that to one of his own players instead of a green jersey

I had GB and the over last night, but your post is about as stupid as they can come. People picked and bet on the Ravens because they thought that's the winner. What the hell did you think? Everyone who bet on the Raven knowingly wanted to throw their money away?
So you're going to tell us the winner on between the Steelers and Browns this coming Friday also, right?

Butcher - i apologize on behalf of all covers posters. only one post came close to answering your question (wd ve), so my advice is stay the **** away from this place, or at least sift thru it carefully and recognize the helpful threads and posts, and try to ignore the hate and those who just like to hear themselves spew.
You are correct to look at stats. Look at them for a long time and try to play the game in your head like the coaches would. I was on the pack last night and that was because of the situational matchup. I was assuming the ravens were going to try to run the ball to succeed- against a GB D that was allowing less than 90 ypg on the ground. As a coach, a mix of run defenses, and blitzes that will also work against the run will give your team enough possessions to get a lead. The victory was in forcing Flacco to become one dimensional to catch up. When the pack knew they were going to throw, the picks came easy.
Ok, it doesnt always work, but late in the season, the stats are only good if you see a situational advantage. Ray Rice was not going to sneak up on the 3rd best defense in the land, was my theory.
All the Raven backers had reasons to believe the 3.5 chalk was enough to either win or cover for various reasons, or because they were blindly tailing someone else, which often works too.
You are so on the right track digging deep into the stats.
Also look for any intangibles that the espn computer simulator doesnt factor in and add or subtract pts to the line to help decide.

Bottom line - its always fun to win in any fashion - but it really sucks losing because someone here convinced you which side to take. When i lose on my own, i foolishly convince myself i was on the right side anyway, and chalk it up to 'shit happens'.

I was on BAL +3.5 and YES was on the losing side last night. But like another poster said this game was far from an walk in the park. If not for a brutal INT after being 1st and goal on the 1 this game likely plays out as a FG game which i was expecting. So....even though i lost i dont feel i was on the wrong side necessarily. If i had this same scenario again i'd likely do the same thing and just hope im correct more times then not.
