Well it had to happen sooner or later. Billy Ho is betting against his beloved Knicks for the first time this season and ironically its his first play of the year.
Just an awful spot for the Knicks here tonight. I'd say the toughest scenario in the entire NBA is playing the last game of a road trip on a back to back in Salt Lake City. THE TOUGHEST, PERIOD. Not only are the Knicks doing this, but they are doing it after going all out defensively last night in a very gutsy win in a place where they have struggled for years, with all 5 starters playing over 35 minutes last night, without Gallo who is their best perimeter shooter and free throw shooter, with absolutely no depth, and playing a Jazz team who just had 3 days off to rest after playing an overtime game. Safe to say the odds are stacked against the Knicks here big time. Ronny Turiaf, the teams best defender and best energy man, was forced to start and play 35 minutes last night and did an exceptional job against Aldridge. The problem is he only averages around 20-25 minutes per game so there is almost no way he can match that effort against a giant front line and the league's best half court offense.
Matchup wise, this is a nightmare for the Knicks. The Jazz are long and athletic and have 3 seven footers who are all athletic, capable scorers in Kirilenko, big gay Al, and Millsap. Much different matchup from last night because Turiaf can't guard 3 people at once. At the point guard spot, Raymond Felton is a little outclassed here which can't be said very often. Williams is big and physical and should be able to get to the rim and either finish or set up his guys all night long. Wilson Chandler should have a lot of difficulty with Kirilenko on the offensive end. Kirilenko is a rangy defender that changes a lot of shots and is also quick enough and big enough to hang with Chandler, again this is not something you see very often. Amare will get his as always tonight, but this will not be nearly enough tonight. Look for the rested and fresh Jazz to push the tempo and beat the tired, road weary Knicks at their own game tonight. I would not be surprised to see the Jazz average 30 points a quarter tonight. The Knicks head home pretty satisfied at 2-2 on this very difficult road trip that ends in the high altitudes of Salt Lake City tonite!

I ALSO FORGOT TO ADD....THE REFEREE ASSIGNMENT IS THE CHERRY ON TOP OF THE CAKE HERE! DAVID STERN PUTS 3 OF HIS BIGGEST HOMER REFS IN UTAH TONIGHT, KNOWING THE KNICKS WILL BE THE PUBLIC PLAY TONIGHT.
HONESTLY GUYS, I HAVE NEVER BEEN MORE CONFIDENT IN ONE NBA PICK IN MY LIFE. IF I LOSE, I LOSE WITH NO REGRETS HERE TONITE.

Great writeup, and I always like going against a team on B2B playing at altitude vs the Jazz. Big factor as to why it is one of the hardest places to win in the Association....

Thanks johnny. yea this seems like a perfect storm tonite against the Knicks. If they lose by 30 tonite I would not be surprised one bit.
