Even though it obviously didn't work out so well here, He's all about the big picture...It's beneficial for Ely to gain the experience of being in that situation...Torre is a players coach....He is constantly challenging his players to help them improve......Don't question a living legend. 

I agree --silly and vicious comments about a man that has forgotten more about baseball than most people know.

heck i remember he used to be the announcer for the angels on ktla

 

the 1998 yankees were one of the greatest teams ever and had barely any all stars. They werent stars at all. Torre was great
