LOOK AT MELKY CABRERA'S AVERAGE THATS HOW. and you're the one saying he has a better eye not me, I never said it improves your eye by taking juice. If you really think that it doesn't affect your average you're and idiot. Like I said before I'm not saying he is taking anything just obvious reasons why people should suspect he is. Who cares what Cano says about his batting.
Learn how to read and comprehend English, I understand it may be tough at times, but concentrate and I believe you won't find it so difficult. I said juice doesn't improve your average as significantly as it has with Edwin. Don't present me with 1 person and going to think I'm satisfied and will accept it as a fact, because it simply isn't true.
I'll tell you what, every single time someone has a break out season, we'll just assume it's steroids. Just quit the bullshit, he's been tested this season, was clean, and that's that, period. He has always had the potential, and was doing well with Cinci before a wrist injury. He's now healthy again, reinvented himself, passed tests, and is succeeding.

Hey snuka just because you took tigers ML does not mean you have to tag on a player thats going to potentially cost you your money. Encarnacion has worked hard and changed some things in the off season to improve his hitting. Do some research before you make these kind of posts homie.

I didn't start this thread sorry bud. So no I didn't say he is, Maybe look before you judge.
No but you have clearly been supporting the argument. Like I said, Weebs and I have presented you with facts. Stop speaking out of your ass because your spewing shit everywhere. You have yet to present any valid points that were actually factual. Don't post in this thread again unless there is some validity regarding your points.

Okay, Weeble and the Jays fans, I respect you guys, but i'll also respectably disagree.
I think Bautista and Encarnacion are both juicing. Like Victor Conte said, Melky is an idiot if he couldn't mask that steroid. It doesn't matter how many times you get tested to me. If you got a good juice guy you can get away with it.
What bautista did just doesn't happen. your bad speed doesn't get that fast.

You are correct. My bad.
Fact still remains that you are talking like he is when I'm pretty sure that (based on the fact that the big hitters have been tested at least a few times this year) he's been tested more than once in 2012.

At the risk of sounding sarcastic...
So Edwin and Jose know secret agent scientists that can mask this but Melky and others before him aren't privy to this same information?

So what you're trying to tell me is that someone can significantly improve on something between the ages of 17-21, but someone can't do the same between the ages of 25-29?

Oh Juice doesn't improve it that much? Melky batted a .274 in 2009, .255 in 2010, .305 in 2011 and a .346 this season? If thats not a drastic change than what is? I'm sure Melky passed drug tests this year as well, but failed his last one. Stop the bullshit and look at stats and what people who have juiced have improved in. As I have said before I understand why people are raising eyebrows, I'm not gonna say he is or isn't on the juice.

It's actually hilarious, but if you use sound logic, makes perfect sense. The fact is if this was true, everyone would do it, and the league would be full of Bautista's and Encarnacion's.

I would not be surprised if more players will test positive for some sort of PED.
Being a Toronto fan, I would be hugely disappointed if either one ever tested positive for anything. Colon is prime example that you no longer can judge whether people are using something based on looks alone. That dude should have tested positive for cookie dough if anything. But athletes these days, whether you like it or not, will always try to find a way to get an edge, perform well and get that big contract.
I don't believe Joey Bats or EE is using anything but if they did test positive, I wouldn't be surprised. Lets hope not Jays fans.

They've already been tested more times than the average player. If they haven't tested positive yet, they won't. This is why I say if you still think they've done steroids, you'll always think this, because you'll never have any real proof pointing towards they did. Someone is presumed innocent until proven guilty, they tried, but never succeeded.

See...this is what the cheaters have turned us into...a bunch of fucking skeptics.
Bonds, Sosa, McGwire...the list goes on. We have no choice but to believe that if a guy can hit and hit for power, then he MUST be juicing. I fully understand from where you're coming.

Alright guys...we can have a civil and friendly argument without the name-calling. Then it just becomes childish.

You can convince yourself all you'd like that I'm the clown, but you have yet to state any facts, merely speculation and horrid shit spewing. The Jays have come out and stated Bautista has been tested an absurdly high number of times, did any one come out and deny this? Absolutely not.

Spartacus, Has Melky's average went up since testing positive for steroids?
Not as much as you seem to think. Lets say he finished this season with a .315 average (which is generous IMO).
2012: .315 avg 2011: .305 avg Career: .284 avg
For a young guy such as Melky only being 26 heading into last season, it's really not all that suspicious that he would increase his batting average by 20 points. He could have had some adjustment, new hitting coach, new scenery, whatever it may be.
Edwin Encarnacion
If you throw out Encarnacions seasons where he was plagued by injuries and never played consistently, he has a career .275 avg
2011: .272 avg 2012: .291 avg Career: .275 avg
The differences from career to break out seasons for these 2 guys isn't as drastic as you make it seem. So my answer is, yes Melky's average did go up, but not by some significantly high margin with absolutely no way of explaining why.
These, my friend, are facts.

Edwin is a .265 avg hitter through his 8 year career. Melky .315 generous this year? He was batting .346 and still hitting well when caught. Where does .315 come from? 28 years of age this year is not a young ball player at all. How is doubling in number not drastically.
Ok lets go with all full season's for Edwin than.
2006 HR- 15 RBI'S 72 BA .276 at bats 406
2007 HR- 16 RBI'S 76 BA .289 at bats 502
2008 HR- 26 RBI'S 67 BA .251 at bats 506
2011 HR 17 RBI'S 55 BA .272 at bats 481
2012 HR 32 RBI'S 84 BA .291 at bats 433 (so far this season)
Your telling me those numbers aren't drastically improved from any other year? This is why eyebrow are raised in today's game with numbers jumping like this. Those sir are FACTS.

I don't see how you argue number jumps like that? Again realize what i'm saying when I say number's jump. He has increased his numbers and is having a career year. If thats by becoming a better player by pure offseason training or juice, His numbers have jumped at a very high rate.

I respect your side of the argument, I just don't completely agree with it. Like Weebs said, the juicers of the past have done this to the fans of baseball, turning great stories into media hyped stories regarding steroids. Are we ever going to have the opportunity to have a feel good story in baseball again regarding hitters? Or are we doomed to a never ending battle of finger pointing and assumptions regarding every great break out hitter we see?

Ok first of all guys, lets get some things clear. I do not believe the players today are using STEROIDS. I think they're smarter than that.
What they are using, are PEDs. This could included steroids but again, I highly doubt that. There's probably newer types of drugs or health products out there that could mimic the effects of steroids without making you look like you're on steroids.
This is why I would not be surprised if EE or Joey Bats tests positive for PEDS down the road or half the major leagues for that matter.
I will also state that there are tons of players doing it clean the good ol' way and EE or Joey Bats equally deserve to be put into that category as well.
I'm torn on this because while I would like to see drugs banned in sports, I'm not sure how many of us would be willing to stay away from some sort of PED if it gave us more than a 70% chance of getting a $50+ million contract that would secure your family and the next 10 generations of your family financially and not have any LEGAL consequences (ie. jail time).
The only way to stop drugs in sports is to tie the activity with a SEVERE financial consequence. I would give the team the right to void the ENTIRE length of the contract if at any time players tested positive for banned substances. This probably amounts something close to jail time.
