- Atlanta top 5 team vs middle of the road, borderline playoff team. Atlanta the better hitting team all things equal

- Atlanta trying to avoid the sweep, motivation and regression to mean EDGE

- And the biggest reason of all is the lopsided pitching matchup. M. Perez has been stellar this year.  SD trots out J.P. Sears who was attrocious last year for the Padres, and who will be making his first start of the season. This is the same spot as Shane Bieber yesterday who we picked on due to his terrible AAA numbers before hitting the majors again (and he didn't disappoint letting up back-toback-to-back HRs to the bottom of Houston's lineup. Sears has an almost 8.00 ERA in a large sample (63 innings in AAA this year). He's had control problems, and isn't really missing bats even at that level. Now he gets to face an elite major league lineup. And while I know that Atlanta's best hitters are lefties...Sand Diego themselves are the third worst team against lefties in the Majors.

Well, the Braves ARE as cold as they’ve been all season, losers of 9 of their last 12. When a club’s cold, it’s not hard for the best laid plans to fall apart.

I’m on the Padres, but only in the 1st 5 innings. I took the half run with +.5 -130. But after that I will pull for Atlanta.
