Heres a quick little scenario. I am not a fan of parlays, because lets face it, you need many things to happen and you need luck on your side. But if you were to make a 4 team parlay, whats stopping you from doing 4 straight wagers using the same original investment you would on a parlay.
Lets assume the odds for every selection you have is all +100, so you got 4 odds at +100 (so your probably playing O/U or Spreads).
You put $50 on the parlay, you go 4 for 4, you walk away with $750 + your original $50.
Now, lets take the same $50 and put it on a +100 straight, you win and your up to $100 ($50 Profit), so you look for game #2 to bet on, you put $100 on +100, you win and your up to $200($150 profit), game #3 you put $200 on +100, you win and now your up to $400($350) profit, you find game #4 to bet on and you put down $400, you win again and your up to $800($750 profit). Same exact as if you would make a parlay...
If you lose on the 3rd or 4th straight wagers, you have only lost your original $50 which you would have lost anyways on your parlay if you went 3/4 anyway.
But atleast with the straight wager idea, you dont have to bet all 4 on the same day. You can stretch it over a few days, especially when you have so many baseball games throughout the week. This way you only concentrate 1 game at a time, and you dont have to focus on 4 things to come through right away. You could also stop at any time to, perhaps your happy with the $350 profit, you dont want to go to the 4th game, you could start over with $50 and build your new streak.
I know I have read posts on here when you start with $10 and double up until you hit 10 in a row and come out with over $10,000 lol. But I am just curious to know if it makes sense to make a parlay when you can do the same thing essentially with straights using the same original bet and double up. Thoughts and Opinions?
