KOAJ, because the pressing problem is rampant crime and gun use, not a government kicking down your door at night.
 
Gun laws in general are causing way bigger problems than what they were supposed to be the solution for.

Military weapons and ammunition which is extreme serves zero purpose in society, if you think that felons kill people then how many MORE people are killed with automatic weapons?

Yeah lets make it as easy as possible to kill as many people as possible in the shortest length of time, all under the guise of personal freedom and the constitution.

Real bright, and thanks for proving the point.

Get serious. If you make that arguement all you're saying is that Americans are to petty and immature to handle this (which I assume they're not!) Because despite what you guys choose to believe, societies can still function without massive crime when guns aren't readily available to anyone. All hell does not break loose in civilized societies just because everyone is not allowed to own automatic weapons.

I'm making this statement with the assumption the US can be considered a modern civilized society. But some of the arguements against it are making me second guess this assumption.


Again, IGNORANCE IS BLISS. Crime rate of ALL countries that chose to ban firearms rose the immediate year and never went down lower than the last year that firearms were legal.

The Australian and English govt's started with big arms to eventually and easily ban small arms.

Governments use broad, vague legislation to circum the whole thing.... like the do with certain drugs: ie - cannabis (non killer).. while relating it to similar lockup time in par with cocaine, etc. I'm giving out examples how government gets TOO involved.

only when they can prevent criminals from purchasing guns, will i allow them to prevent me from purchasing guns.

when you make guns illegal, no law-abiding citizen will have one.  so any criminal with one can do anything without fear of retaliation. 

if i know you dont have a gun and i do, i'll rob your house with no fear, what the fuck can you do??

if i think you might have a gun in your bedroom i might think twice about robbing your house.

 criminals who disregard robbery laws are not going to follow a gun law either..

with all the said i think people are crazy with their guns and they dont necessarily need them.  i also think people with illegal handguns etc should be sentenced to something on par with attempted murder and not just the little bullshit they get.  theres only one reason to have an illegal gun and that is to shoot illegally.
