A Ak47 for about $200, and a 12 gauge shotgun for around $150.
.44 is very hard to find, and not cheap at all
You can get them at this price, is that in dollars or Afgani bucks?
Living in a corragted tin shack with palm leaves for a roof, you don't need a gun, all you need is a slingshot
cracks me up, the guy has all the insider info on ammo and such, and what the cost is, but doesn't have a pot to piss in or a window to throw it out of.
Guns will never go away, it is a shame what is going on these days, back in the good ole days a good ass whuppin was what was indicated, now you can get shot for looking at someone...sad.
Bring back the death penalty, and no appeals...just a couple of weeks and then do it....no need to pay for them to sit and jack off and shit for years.

Semi auto = a weapon that can fire only as fast as the trigger is pulled. A .357 is the same but the break to fire is slightly longer.
Fully auto (assualt rifle which is already banned in the United States) fires up to and beyond 20+ rounds in one squeeze of the trigger. It is used for nothing other than killing humans quickly.
The semi auto AR-15 is sold here in California with a MAXIMUM of a 9 round clip BFD. That is the same as a 30/30 or 308 with a 6-8 round loading capacity....same thing and the same killing power.
Also have a look at 2005-2008 US homocides comitted by registered gun owners. The statistics are a joke compared to unregistered owners and homocides commited by unregistered black market firearms.
They removed all of the guns from the UK and have a look at those statistics. The violent crime rate is almost twice that of New York City.
So what's all the hub bub?
Registered gun owners are not the culprit of gun violence, criminal felons are. And the registered law abiding citizens that have carry and/or conceal licenses may one day save your life when there isn't a cop around to do that.

Goes back to what you say about the NRA and lunacy of some gun owners that fight tooth and nail to own high powered weapons because they have small dicks. They are not dangerous people statistically but simply childish in my opnion.
Perfect example. S&W makes a .50 magnum (handgun) currently on the market. This gun will literally knock down an elephant with one shot. Can anybody please introduce me to the blowhard that feels the need to purchuse this caliber?
Same goes with all of the other clowns that buy ridiculously expensive and over powering firearms that they can't even handle. It's just mental masturbation.

100% agreement Wallstreet.

Or how about those hollow tip bullets that destroy and implode upon entry? Its not enough to hit the target, but make a small hole into a massive destruction mess after the target is hit?
Yeah we really need those around.

someone on youtube shares your points exactly search/wallstreet
"I never said what you should or shouldn't do...I said there is no practical reason for anything larger then a .44 magnum. A .44 will split a semi's engine block in two. Obviously you are struggling to understand my point. I enjoy guns myself and have shot many in my time. What use would a .500 provide that a .44 mag couldn't handle? Exactly my point... "
not a gun guy whatsoever, but if this gun can really knock down an elephant WHAT THE FUCK do you plan on using it for?

If people want to own guns and collect them and they are legal then what is wrong with that?
I don't buy this The NRA is responsible for killing thousands of people a year, all under the phony guise of "freedom to bear arms" at all Wall.If
I want to kill somebody then I'll do it any way I can. If the guns
aren't legal the criminal will get illegal ones and do the job.
About 8 years ago up here in Canada the federal government made
it mandatory to register all long guns and shotguns in addition to
handguns and it hasn't done a damn thing. People still get shot and
there are more illegal guns in the streets than you can shake a stick
at.

What would we do without semi-automatic combat weapons to protect ourselves from each other?
You said all guns wallstreet, but seem to have backen off that statement and are talking about assault weapons, which I agree with. Just wondering where you really stand?

Although that may be the case, I could blow so many holes in that logic that it wouldn't even be worth my time.

I would be THRILLED beyond explanation if all would be banned, that would be a great day for mankind.
BUT..I am not that far up the river that I think it could happen, thus the second comment.

the 2nd amendment has nothing to do with hunting and everything to do with an overbearing tyrannical government. the people knew they needed to be able to protect themselves from the invading british or their own government
read the docs for what they say, not what you want them to say
i dont own a gun and never will but i would never tell someone they dont have the right to own whatever type of gun they want

When it was written it made sense, it does not make sense for a modern civilized society.
I totally agree with WSC here. It would be amazing if ALL guns were banned...but since that will never happen only hunting rifles and small handguns should be allowed for responsible people.

Yeah we really need those around.
Yes we really do need those around. Not really sure if you understand the argument you are trying to make. I don't brandish my gun, threaten anybody with it or pull it out to show people. If I take it out it's because I'm going to use it to defend my life. With that in mind I want the ammunition in it that is going to do the MAXIMUM amount of damage and afford the person I use it on the LOWEST chance of getting back up (and potentially harming me). Such ammuntion is largely unavailable right now and those that have a supply of it are hoarding it and taking advantage of the grossly inflated prices and scarcity in the marketplace.

Wall...... I hope you dont express your opinion in public. Please dont let people hear you say you dont own a gun, dont want a gun, dont need a gun. Thats exactly what a criminal wants to hear......Your saying come kick in my fuckin door, kill me, do what you want with my wife and children.
I can assure you if it wasnt for private gun ownership.......crime would rise by 50%. Owning weapons, being informed, practiced, and ready to use SAVES LIVES. Its beyond argument, that is a fact.

"they" will disarm us before the next push by big brother. this is what our founding fathers were afraid us. paul revere's ride was to warn the minutemen of the coming effort by the british soldiers to destory the rebels' military stores. this is what sparked the american revolution
‘‘I ask, sir, what is the militia? It is the whole people, except for a few public officials.’’
‘‘To disarm the people is the best and most effectual way to enslave them.’’
— George Mason
‘‘[The Constitution preserves] the advantage of being armed which
Americans possess over the people of almost every other nation (where)
the governments are afraid to trust the people with arms.’’
— James Madison, Federalist, No. 46.

That is a function of GUNS..dont you guys get it?
The whole fear issue is because criminals also own guns and arent afraid to use them to get what they want.
If there werent guns like we are discussing, there wouldnt be so much fear.
We created the weapons, thus we created the fear and the ensuing mess.
Odds are if someone intrudes your house, unless you sleep with a gun it wont matter.
I would feel LESS safe owning a gun knowing that I might NEED to use it and if it got in the wrong hands, bad things can happen.
Living in the fear of criminals is not how I choose to live my life.
Get a dog and an alarm system with great exterior motion lights and forget sleeping with a gun.
Koaj..whats with the Civil War references??? I think they served their time but that theory is a relic fear tactic used to rationalize the gun industry, and is pathetic at best.

I was actually giving more credit past the revolutionary war since we were building the country and some of these freedoms were in the building stage.
You cannot fear government at every turn, that seems to haunt you, and it is playing right into the hands of the NRA.
You are being a lackey for the gun lobby, we dont have to carry guns to keep the government away, if it gets to that point in society, then the guns we carry wont save us.

ABN's original post was a joke (I think) about his stock broker and it has since turned into a long debate on gun control. This reminds me of the "Taco Bell" thread.

Give me a break. In addition to what WSC said in post #47, Why don't you go look at other western nations which do not allow everyone to carry guns and see if the crime rate is 50% higher than the US.
My guess would be that the crime rate is not only not higher at all, but probably lower.
You think people will only respect their neighbour if they live in fear of him and need to carry a gun that can kill 100's of people in seconds....
That society can ONLY function in this way and that if it wasn't like this crime would rise 50%
Get serious. If you make that arguement all you're saying is that Americans are to petty and immature to handle this (which I assume they're not!) Because despite what you guys choose to believe, societies can still function without massive crime when guns aren't readily available to anyone. All hell does not break loose in civilized societies just because everyone is not allowed to own automatic weapons.
I'm making this statement with the assumption the US can be considered a modern civilized society. But some of the arguements against it are making me second guess this assumption.
