Objectively speaking, while I'm watching with my own two very pupils, if Alabama is at least 50-75% as fast and strong as Florida's stop unit, the Texas Longhorns may very well be on their way to a similar style drubbing we're witnessing tonight.
This defense is in a class by itself. I can only imagine what Bama "could" bring on. Everybody knows NEB was damn good but this is even bigger, stronger and faster. Maybe they are trying full throttle for Urban Meyer, but if this is what Alabama plays like, it is going to be a race to cream Colt McCcoy. Hopefully not because we ALL should at least want to watch an enjoyable contest for our NCG.
I'm sure TX players, coaches, and fans are watching keenly at the obvious excellent SEC defensive display tonight and sharing my same concerning thoughts. Please share your sentiments....

alabama's top unit you think is 50-75 % of florida's, did you see what alabama did to florida in the SEC game? i think bama beats texas pretty easily... just my opinion

If Alabama's defense is 90% or better, I just think Texas is in big trouble. I know Texas has a great defense too but this looks like a totally different class on the D side of the ball. And tonight Cincy sucks too but.....................it IS very apparent. Remember the motto "DEFENSE WINS CHAMPIONSHIPS"

i do not think their will any speed difference on the field...UT has just as much speed as bama and I do not see bama being able to run against that texas d

Bama will need to contain mccoy to settle texas's offense. They will NOT be able to run on bama. So n mccoys last game he will have all the pressure on him to perform n win the championship for texas similarly to texas usc with vince young. I think this game comes down to greg mc's play. If he can hold his composure and limit his turnovers bamas o should be ok. Everyone outside tide nation looks at ingram as bamas savior n ur all wrong ingram is an excellent back n he will get his but bamas true frosh Trent Richardson is just as good and will be better by the end of the college career. Look for saban to be very aggresive n the beginning of the game. If he wins the toss he will want the ball. I personally will be n pasadena and will be rooting hard for Bama to bring home lucky number 13.....championships that is. Bama 31 Texas 17 tops

Is Bama really going for their 13th? I know Texas has at least 5. THe oddest angle against Bama is their record against Texas. 0-7-1. That is an unbelievable stat and surprisingly, how few games played between these strong hi profile programs.
Have fun in Pasadena. That place looked beautiful on HD TV today. That location has also been very good to TEXAS. Has Bama ever even played there?

Alabama barely beat Auburn, Auburn got lucky to beat Northwestern today so what does that say about the Alabama and SEC. You think maybe the Big East is just not very good. LSU was basically dominated by PSU today. Everyone says the Big 10 is way down. Maybe the SEC is just not as good as you think they are

Bama w/ 13 titles? I don't know about that, I mean some years like 40-50 years, there were up to 5-6 teams that claimed titles, and numerous outlets "crowned" Nat champs. The bowls weren't really set up to settle things like this either.

Texas barely beat Nebraska who got blow out by TT, TT lost to Houston who lost to AFA, so AFA must be better than UT.
That sort of logic makes no sense. I hope that is not how you place your bets.

My point is Texas is very limited offensively, as Colt goes, TX goes(i.e. Remember NEB game). When you become one dimensional like it probably will be because of the Bama trench advantage (remember how well the TX OL handled Suh and brethren, NOT!) that plays into Bama's defensive team speed advantage and they will disrupt Colt into mistakes that can't overcome. Do I personally want that to happen. No. I want a good game, not a stinkin' blowout. TX is fast on D also but..............There is no way TX can blow out Bama but Bama "COULD" very easily blow TX doors.

The same forum said that about UTAH last season...

Who decent has alabama blown out this yr. If you say Florida (only 11pts) I will argue Carlos Dunlap being out made a big difference on that game. There biggest win against a decently good team was florida. I just don't see there offense has a high powered offense. They like to grind it out running the rock. I see this game being a 3pt game one way or the other.

Well, then, I think you should bet heavily on Alabama. You seem pretty confident. You need no more advice.
