I'm really just irritated at hearing so many people talk about how bad Texas is whining. I don't know where everyone is getting that info, but I'm hear in Austin, and we aren't whining at all! Pissed off, sure! But, all the team and this town is talking about is moving forward. We can't change what happened, period. I've seen a lot of people fade Texas all year, and that's fine. But, even when we beat OSU convincingly, we won't get the respect. And, we will beat Ohio St. by 3 TD's, no doubt in my mind! I'm not trying to disrespect Buckeye fans, but the two offenses don't even compare, sorry. But just tired of all of the "Oh Texas, quit you're bitching" comments, when it couldn't be further from the truth. Good luck to Oklahoma and Florida, should be a really good game.
hope this wasn't directed at my post, i never said you guys were bitching, i just said that you got fucked. My buddy lives in Austin, and he echoed your statement of pissed but moving on. And as i said, i like texas in the game and i 'm a die hard buckeye fan.

Not at all, my friend. I've even seen threads started about all the whining, and honestly I've seen more non-Texas fans saying we got hosed, than actual fans! That wasn't really meant for anyone in particular, just generally speaking. GL to you.

If I was Texas I wouldn't sleep on Ohio St.. When Texas played BaylorRobert Griffin ran all over them something like 13 rushes for 100 yards and a touchdown. He only passed for 71 yards which is definately Titus Pryors weakness as well but be assured that Ohio St. will bring a much stiffer defense than Baylor. Tressel will have his team ready and the 9+ spread will give him plenty of motivation and bulletin board material. I am pro Ohio State so I may be somewhat biased but I wouldn't count on Texas rolling in and steam rolling them 52-10 or something like that.
Don't get me wrong I'm definately but Ohio St. is too solid of a team to get rolled big. Their only loss that was pathetic and immediately put them out of National Champ contention was their debacle against USC at USC early in the year before Pryor had done anything. They are certainly a much better team now and Tressel is a solid big game coach (and I don't want to hear about the meltdown against FLA. a few years back).
I'm going with THE Ohio State University!!!!

Ace, I assure you, Texas will not sleep on them at all. They will come prepared to play this game like they have previous bowl games. Not discrediting Ohio State's season, I'm just saying our offense is that good! They can run Wells all day, Texas will score fast and often, OSU won't keep up.

OSU has alot of seniors or players that are entering the draft after this game. Most of them are not happy with how they played in the last two bowls, which was against much better talent than they will see out of Texas. Texas's defensive line scares me as that one dude is a monster, but Texas's offense should not dominate the game like many of you are saying. You must remember that OSU defense has 2 top 20 draft picks as well as 2 emerging studs on the d line in haywood and gibson. These guys would start on most SEC teams. Factor in Jenkins, the overrated linebackers (Laur/Freeman) and you have some serious talent on Ohio State's defense. I think Ohio State shows up and wins outright.

sooner fan.... i agree oklahoma is a better team.... but out of the three way tie only 1 game was played on a neutral field, end of discussion. Can you imagine if Stoops was in Texas's place, that fudge packer would be pissin a shit fit.
Oklahoma IS the better team, but Texas got the shaft
You certainly have a point, Oklahoma may be the better team, but before you assume that, I would like you to see these points.
Texas played Oklahoma on a Neutral field and won by 10. They then absolutely KILLED Missouri and then won a tough one with a hungry Oklahoma St. After all this, they travel to Lubbock and fall behind 22-3. They rally and take the lead, only to fall short. These accomplishments just SCREAM champion's heart.
In the celebrated Big 12 3-some, only Texas didn't play a game at home. Computers don't see this. Computers don't know how hard it is to play 4 top 12 teams in a row in 4 weeks. Computers don't allow for circumstances.
There is no way you can say that Oklahoma IS the better team. They had every advantage and Texas didn't.

Texas did beat Oklahoma the one time, but if they play 10 times I say OK wins 6 or 7 of them. I think Texas did get stiffed, and if you look at the one game, yeah texas should be in the NC game. If you look at the whole season, then OK should. Aslo in OK's favor are the wins over Cincy and TCU, 2 top 12 teams, while Texas didn't schedule anyone good in non-conf.

If you won't, I will discredit OSU*s season. They didn't beat anybody and they didn't beat anybody that beat anybody.
Their best wins are against Michigan State who would be the biggest ranked farce out there if it weren't for Northwestern. Both teams beat win is Iowa by 4 and 5 points. NW lost at Indiana. Michigan State got humiliated by OSU* and Penn State. These teams are a joke and they are the only ones that OSU* beat.
All of OSU*s "guns" were loaded against Michigan. They made two big plays and Michigan squandered a golden opp. Score at halftime??? 14-7. OSU*s offense can't drive the length of the field against competition and they don't get big plays against competition either. Only against the cupcakes, and yes, NW and Michigan, MSU, Purdue, Minn., Wisc are all cupcakes. Texas will obliterate these clowns. The LSU pounding will feel like a swedish massage compared to this one for the Buckeyes*.

Do you really think UC and TCU are top 12 teams? Really? Would you put money that I couldn't find a team outside the top 15 that wouldn't beat them 6 out of ten times? Texas tried, Arkansas just blew, that is why you have to be objective and look at all the facts. A computer is not able to do this.

canes I think you need to get your facts right; TCU the team you want to discount so easily got rolled by OU and is top 12 in the BCS and are 3 pts favs against undefeated Boise State. Cincy is a top 12 BCS team who won the big east and got rolled by OU. And God can we please dispense with this 4 game gauntlet they werent facing soldiers; OU lead the entire game; lost the heart and soul of their defense and then Texas was able to run on them and won the game ok great that is one game. Missouri SUCKS; OSU beat them at Missou; OU crushed them by over 40; that is not a gauntlet team; Texas barely wins at home against OSU at home by 4 a game that goes down to the wire; OU goes on the ROAD and puts up 60 and crushes them; another gauntlet game of yours and then Tech you finallly have a road game and you lose. OU plays the same team at home with all the hype and crushed them by 44. WOW what a gauntlet. OU crushed the 3 teams you call a gauntlet and actually played 2 top 12 BCS teams and crushed them; that is why they are ahead of Texas plain and simple. Yea and I would love for you to find some teams that would beat TCU and Cincy any day of the year. Why dont you check the BCS for the FACTS. GEEZ

Robert Griffin only had a decent game, because TX had just played OU, Mizzou, OSU, and Tech. and even then, they backdoor covered in the final two minutes.

TCU is ranked about 11, and Cincy is ranked about 14th, and they are among the top 12 BCS teams. At any rate, these are much better teams than Texas scheduled, OOC. Maybe if Texas didn't schedule some creampuffs, they might be in the NC game. Hint - playing Sun Belt teams will not help you any. If you look at OK's schedule, and results, compare them to Texas, then OK is far more impressive. Yes, Texas did beat them, but using that logic, Texas tech should be ahead of texas then, as they won head to head. And then OK smoked Tex Tech. So now what?

A gambler that puts this much faith in the BCS rankings is just not a good thing!!
You take TCU and Cincinnati. I will take Oregon, Oklahoma St., Georgia Tech, Oregon, Georgia, Mississippi. Good Luck!!! LOL

I don't like the whole system of looking at OOC games. It only makes sense on a very small scale. Do you know when the games were scheduled for this year? Probably 3-4 years ago. How can you expect a team to build its credibility OOC when you need a crystal ball to see in the future. I would bet just about any other year that Arkansas would be better than Cinncy. Its all luck to some degree, yea you can schedule small conference teams and blow them out or a mediocre major conference team and hope they are decent. Cinncy finished 7th out of 8 teams in the big east when OU scheduled them. My point is that OOC is all luck and really shouldn't make or break a team because OU beat the Big East champ that could be beat my Nebreska and Baylor.
Anyhow, Texas rolls here with their defense. I'm 4-0 on texas this year and its all been about the defense matching up against the opponent. Run defense is very solid, Mushchamp doesn't like to let the opposition get ANY kind of run game going. Pryor will struggle with the speed of the pass rush and linebackers. I'll take Muschamp with a month of preparation over a freshman QB with shaky throwing any day. It could a long day for the OSU offense if they dont get a running game established early!

Ryno, you are right , to some extent, but how about scheduling some more BCS teams. Yeah, ARK could be a solid opponent, some years, but Flor ATL? Rice? UTEP? These are some scrub teams. Yes it is luck, but it is really all about money. the big programs want all of the home games that they can get, and not a lot of teams want to come to Texas, USC, OSU, etc. There is an occasional home and home between top teams but it is rare. OKL did get lucky playing TCU and CINCy this year, as both teams usually have decent teams, but this year they have been good.

How did Ohio St do against the top teams on their schedule?
They got drummed by USC and lost to Penn State
The rest of their schedule doesn't compare to Texas's schedule (minus Oklahoma and Texas Tech).
This is 100% true although their win at Michigan St. was somewhat impressive. As I have said I am a "homer" but am willing to see what the true light is. Ohio State has not won a "big" game this year and they have struggled offensively against the elite competition. This game comes down to Pryor and what he is able to do. I know Tressel was able to lure him here because of the "pro-style" offense however this is not the game to show that. Pryor can develop as a qb later but now as a true freshman he needs to be utilized to the best of his abilities.
The main point is this:
If Pryor doesn't run for 80+ yards OSU will not win this game.
