College playoff is practically set NO REAL Debate

1. Clemson

2. Alabama

3. Oklahoma  (LOCK)

4. Iowa/Michigan State (LOCK)


Outside : Stanford
             Ohio State
The real debate comes into play if Clemson or Alabama loses. I think Highly unlikely for either of the two but Tar Heels could surprise the Tigers. I Believe if Stanford win's big in the championship then they would get the upper hand over Ohio state other than that I think the Buckeyes get back in. Big interest if there is a defending champ. Of-course Clemson or Alabama have to lose.  Love to here anybody's thoughts

will agree 100% with winner of Big Ten Championship is probably IN. IF Iowa they would be undefeated. IF my Spartans would have one loss by 1 point in the "Grand Theft Ref" game @ Nebraska.

I think that UNC very well COULD upset "Clem Kadiddlehopper" would that get the Heels IN with one loss their 1st game of the year vs South Carolina? maybe IF Florida upset Alabama (NOT likely)

doubt Stanford with TWO losses makes it esp with their "squeek" wins over Washington State and Notre Dame. but for a MISSED Wazzo last second FG and a last second MADE FG vs ND they would have LOST both games.

think college football powers AND the networks would probably use any excuse to sneak Ohio State in. IF Michigan State BEAT the SNOT out of Iowa, like OSU did to Wisconsin last year, they could argue their ONLY loss a 3 point game in poring rain vs MSU

Oklahoma could get "mushed" because their one loss was to a weak Texas team and they "squeeked" the win over TCU. I also think NO Big 12 Championship game HURTS their teams getting into the Final Four

one thing is for sure. no matter WHO ends up in the playoffs there will be screaming and yelling for expansion to EIGHT TEAMS in the future. the  Final Four PRINTS MONEY. imagine what one more round would be worth? 

If UNC beats Clemson, UNC should replace Clemson in the top 4. 

UNC becomes number 4, and everyone else moves up.

If the Committee, however, thinks UNC is unworthy, then Clemson would be a better choice than Ohio State.  They'd both have one loss, and neither would be a conference champ, but at least Clemson would be a division champ, and Clemson would have beaten two teams (Florida State and Notre Dame) better than the best team Ohio State beat (Michigan).

Lerinkrat - the chances of OU making the playoffs are closer to 100% than 99%. In other words there is no way no how in this world that they do not make the playoffs. Even with the UT loss. 1) OU looks like possibly the best and at least the most complete team in the country right now. And that opinion is not just mine it has been said over and over. And the committee has shown repeatedly over this year and last year that some if their thought process is in who they think is playing better now and has the best chance to win in the future.

I agree with the original post. OU and Iowa/MSU can be locked in now. The interesting thing will be who gets in if Clemson loses or if Bama loses (I do not see Bama losing for what it is worth). Is it Ohio St? North Carolina?

Agreed with the two virtual locks, OU and winner of MSU/IOWA. If both undefeated teams loses then it opens the door. Ohio State will be strongly considered and it would take a miracle for Stanford to leap in, but that would mean UNC would also have to be in the debate as well.

What might hurt Stanford's chances is they play the PAC-12 vs unranked USC. UCLA winning might have boosted their resume.

I would hope if NORTH CAROLINA be as CLEMSON they would make it to the PLAYOFF...

North Carolina will beat Clemson.

I am not 100% sure that Bama won't jump Clemson this week or next, especially after Clemson's performance against SC... I also doubt they have the kind of game we are going to have in their conference championship. 

Which I do not want btw... Bama wants Oklahoma in the first round...

a defeat of undefeated #1 Clemson would improve UNC's strength of schedule enough to overcome their opening season loss to SC in my opinion.
