With no chance of winning the game and 2:10 seconds left in the game, CAL goes for the 2 point conversion.
UCLA generates very little offense on purpose in the 4th qtr and even has a fumble on a running play.
Cal keeps their starting QB in and continues gunning the ball down field until the final 2 seconds in the game.
UCLA keeps their starter in the game until the end as opposed to pulling out to let their backup QB get some reps and have some fun in a can't lose game.
2nd half side PK is a push...huh that's curious. The over loses by a TD.

I just am blown away by how that all unfolded. Going into the 4th QTR, Cal was only down by 4 possessions. They have arguable one of the best QB's in Div 1 with Goff and they muster up one touchdown with 2 minuets left and go for 2. I just don't get it.
UCLA could have used the 4ht Qtr to let their underclassman get some real playing time. Especially with a team that has suffered so many injuries, why not pull your starters and let the backups have get more experience a la Oregon when they were rolling or currently Baylor.
As a Bruins alum and fan, I would like to see my team roll considering the pain and suffering we endure season after season.

to think a coach has a fix in on a 2nd half line is absurd, think about what you are implying
UCLA wanted to get out of there, the game was over by a long shot
I know it sounds lame but you have to admit, that was the weirdest 4th qtr I've seen. If I was at the Rose bowl watching that game, I would have been pissed knowing I wasted 75 bucks to see that game.

I HAVE TO AGREE !!! That was the MOST F-ed Up ending I have seen in quite a while, and I've been watching games since 1970 !! WTF was Jim Mora doing calling time outs after UCLA went to a knee.....and why did UCLA go to a knee so quickly? Why didn't they let the 35 second clock wind down....SOMETHING LOOKED VERY VERY FISHY there. As if Mora had the 2nd half wager at a pick-em. I got burned cuz I had UCLA at a Pick for the second half and OF COURSE Cal converts a 4th and 9 for a TD and gets the 2 point conversion to make the score 14- 14 in the second half! BUT WHY WAS CAL throwing BOMBS with 20 seconds left from their own 25 yard line????? I was HOPING THE QB GOT KNOCKED OUT FOR THE SEASON!!!! JIM MORA is a SC----UM BAG !!!!!
Jim Mora is certainly not the coach that UCLA will win a national championship with. I could see if they were up by 6 touchdowns but for goodness sake, let the kids get loose and have fun when they are dominating. Give the 3rd stringers a shot at scoring a TD or getting a pick six and have some fun and gain more experience.

These week day games especially are influenced by ref calls and more so No Calls and coaching decisions. You bet they are partially fixed. Every week you can see it. Things happen that make no sense. I saw a whole footage on ESPN 2 weeks ago on 3 games which plays on drives that made no sense, totally contrary to what coaches typically do, were made to change or not change the score.

It is odd. It just takes one starting player, a coach or officiant. At the end of the day, I know it's just how the game broke but you have to wonder.

I had UCLA over 17 in the second half, and I felt good about it when they scored 14 points in the 3rd. What happened in the 4th quarter that they couldn't even score a FG let alone a TD to win???? That pick should have won.

If a fix is on it more than likely will be a player or 2 not the head coach. I really don't think Jim Mora is risking his millions for a second half bet. The ending of the game was as normal an ending as any college game you will see. Of course he goes for 2 which makes it a 2 score game. Yes the % is extremely low for everything to fall in place and cal win but they had to at least try. As for the time management that was horrible but its Jim Mora. It reminded me of last year East Carolina vs UCF. UCF wins on the hail mary.

Well they were losing by 24,8 * 3 thats 3 TDs with conversion to tie the game, if they would have called the timeouts before UCLA went to a knee there could have been 2 minutes for the last drive, score a TD quick convert that makes it 32-40 on side kick recover, score and convert... Yes it does sound almost impossible but that was the only way to pull out a miracle...

it was actually a very slick move by the cal coach. He had 3 TOs and UCLA ran the ball and Cal didn't call timeout which let Mora to assume Cal was waving the white flag. UCLA took the knee to 4th down and Cal called a TO. Still a long shot but it gave them the ball back with 2 TOs.
