......Be careful during bowl season - at least with our picks....We find the bowl season very difficult.....but that will not stop us from delivering HARD HITTING and sometimes MEANINGLESS analysis on every game to help you make your own decisions.

Have a feeling -7 isnt enough on BG. Should be double digits. Liking that high powered offense a lot. Take BG, lay the 7.

Was it just me or did Taggart seem to be completely under-prepared for this game? He did very little to control the emotions of his players and Flowers was way too jacked up for this game for my liking. The first series they rushed to the line on 3rd and inches and threw the ball!!! At the end of the game he declined the holding penalty and then called a timeout when everyone knows the clock stops on the penalty and he could have saved the timeout (unless that's just NFL)! Just a couple of the many mistakes by USF. Easy to play Tuesday morning quarterback but good learning lesson for us. I agree with you Mega, bowl games are a different beast and the time off was not a good thing for USF. They were on a roll and got almost a month off. No bueno. However, I still think it was a great value pick and would take USF 99/100 times.

One thing that clearly comes into play and I need to keep in mind. The officiating is always terrible in these games. They got MAC officials and while it should be the same for both teams it exposes the bettor to more risk and more chance. Also I feel like all the camera angles that were used on reviews/challenges were terrible. Do low budget games like these get fewer cameras or something? I might start looking into low budget games and officiating for these games to see if there's an edge! ha

wynnwynn - WK deserved the win IMO; Hard to say if they were not prepared - i just think the better team won WK D was better than the SF D who just got no pressure on the QB after the first Q. I hear what you are saying but I just take it as a bad pick and move on. Things are always magnified during bowl season so i know its frustrating.

For sure man. WKU was the better team yesterday. I would have felt guilty about a USF outright win and would have considered myself lucky if we got the 3 point push. Just was more curious if any of the stuff I covered about officials and smaller conferences ever influences your picks? I imagine it is VERY hard to quantify but maybe someone has done it before...

mega - tough loss. but it seemed like there were some warning signs in 1H. WKU seemed to move the ball better but got stalled because of stupid plays - dropped balls on 4th down, personal foul in the red zone, etc. etc. I know hindsight is 20/20 of course.

Do you ever make halftime bets?

Hmmm. Taking Tuberville in a bowl game. In Hawaii. Original home of the fix. With a team that turns it over and takes a lot of penalties. Wow. Tempting. But no.

Cincy has had their moments this yr but ultimately coming up short on most occassions....#124 in turnover margin and #116 in penalty yards did not help them - now with their starting QB out - Moore looks pretty good to us and throws a nice ball but he had 9 TD vs 8 int and SD was #1 in turnover margin while featuring a punishing running game (Pumphrey / Price 2500Y 22 TD) and a game manager at QB - Smith is out - but Chapman looked fine last wk vs AF 9-14 203 Y 1 td 0 int...HC Long is 2-7 SU in bowl games and anyone that saw the ending of the Navy game last year made a blood oath to never trust him again in a bowl game.....having said that we LOVE this team - only the #114 ranked schedule but 10 wins including 9 in a row and a defense that plays well vs the run and the pass. Now of course - after winning the MW - and already getting 10 wins - they are human - can always wonder about the motivation - but we would always go against the flaky team and on the reliable team if we had to make a winning pick or leave covers forever after making a tear jerking farewell tour being sprinkled with rose petals. The reliable team is SD.

Summary. Lean SD St. Probably not gonna touch this game. We think if you like Cincy maybe the TT over is the way to go? They just might find their way to 4 TD SD has not faced many good passing teams.

composite - good observation.

I was worried late in the first half when it seemed the pass rush was getting tired after looking good in the first quarter those guys seemed gassed. But man they put up almost 600Y its not like they stunk people are funny. SF was 1-14 on 3rd down with a mobile QB and most were 3rd and managable. WK won that battle. End of game.

.....I do make some small potatoes in game bets - not so much at halftime - but often during the game using in-game wagering.
