reminds me of a funny story....
I was coaching a JH boys team...we were pretty good (good athletes, a traditional JH powerhouse). I ran into an old college buddy out at a bar one night and he happened to mention that he was coaching another team on the opposite side of the city that we never play. We thought it was a good idea to bring our kids out with us to the Y on the following weekend. Since it was an exhibition game both of us agreed that we could play as well. I gave him (and his team) 5.5 points. Winner gets a 24 of beer.
With us up by three in the last minute....we both sub in as it is now crunch time for us after letting our kids play for the first 29mins. Both teams trade misses until they get the ball with 12 secs left...Chris puts up a brick three ball to try and get the tie. My center rebounds the ball and outlets it to me all alone at about centre court. I pull up at the 3 pt line and drop it as time expires. My kids said I was a poor sport (they had no knowledge of the side bet). I told him to always buy the hook.

Because we can't get spreads on middle and high school games.
That was funny, I needed that...you've inspired me to keep trying and to see if I can lose one where my team is up by 30 with 6 minutes to go...I think I can do it...
