So here we have a battle of 2 southland title contenders. Well who we kidding SFA should win this conference going away. They have owned Nicholls in recent history especially after the last several seasons except last matchup.SFAs actually beat the balls off these pour bastards over the years. But I think this could be a decent spot for the dog to jump up and bite especially coming off a disappointing OT road loss vs Mcneese State which isn't nothing to be embarrassed about. While we have SFA on the other hand on cruise control smacking the crap out of everyone and everything that stands in thier way. Couple things that do stick out for me in this game. Turnovers seem to have been an issue for SFA at times during the season and FT%. I think Nicholls can take advantage of that as they are better in both categories as well as the defensive glass. Also they have faced a pretty decent non-conference schedule with a road win at Pitt and hanging tight with URI and Illinois as well as not getting completely depants at LSU. Yes SFA beat Duke this year but this isn't your true blue blood Duke team of years past. The other thing I noticed about Nicholls is their ATS record on the road is 8-3. Not to shabby. They r tied for 2nd
in the conference with Sam Houston State so this is kind of a big game for these guys. I think they will be highly motivated and keep the game close. They do have Sam Houston on deck which is a slight concern but I still think 9.5 is a lot to give Nicholls.
