1* 13-10
2* 3-5
3* 1-0
4* 0-0
5* 0-0
Took the day off yesterday. Back to square one.
1* Columbia Lions +32.5
That's a whole hell of a lot of points for a team that starts 4 seniors. They have a common opponent already in New Haven (COL W by 18, CON W by 24) so that helps. But best of all, UCONN has BYU next, followed by Arizona. The Huskies know they can roll out of bed and win this game, and this is the biggest game on Columbias schedule. We should get two different levels of effort, keeping this within 33 points.
1* Maine/Rutgers Under 130.5
Maines pace is 305th, Adj offensive efficiency is 360th, and effective fg% is 314th. Long story short, they are REALLY struggling to score. Only scoring 47 vs George Washington. Rutgers, as I mentioned in my previous write up on them, is back to focusing on the defensive end of the floor, now that the NBA guys are gone.
2* Fairfield/Seton Hall Under 135.5
Seton Halls tempo is top 10 slowest in the country, and Coach Holloway has always been a defense-first coach. They held St. Peters to 50 in the opener, and Wagner to 61 last week. Fairfield doesn't bring anything scary to the table. They are 281st in off. eff. but have been getting a third of their misses by being active on the offensive glass, but Seton Hall is 13th in defensive rebounding so far. Not sure this one gets to 130.
2* UNC-Wilmington/Kent St Over 159.5
This one feels too good to be true. Kent St has played two games, that have cruised past this number without a sweat. Wilmington hasn't played a D1 school yet, but they scored over 100 vs Mount Olive, but more importantly, gave up 77 to a DII team. The defense won't be game ready for Kent St. style of play and tempo.
2* Kent St Golden Flashes -2.5
See above.
1* Iowa St Cyclones -5.5
I was really high on the Cyclones last year, and then injuries derailed a great time. Lipsey is back and one of the top guards in the Big12, Momcilovic is a match up nightmare, and they added Bucanhan from Virginia to protect the interior of the defense. They will score plenty, and Coach TJ Otz is a defensive guy. This isn't a home game for Iowa St, but being in South Dakota, it will be much more pro Cycs than Dogs.
1* Lamar Cardinals +19.5
Lamar returns 8 guys from last years roster, which is pretty unheard of, and that team last year played McNeese St, 3 times. Never lost by more than 11, and lost in the conference tournament final to them. That McNeese team won 28 games. TCU has played twice. Once beating 355th ranked St. Francis, and the other is a loss on their home floor to New Orleans. They shouldn't be favored by 20 against anyone right now, plus they will looking ahead to their matchup with Michigan on Friday.
1* St. Thomas Tommies +2.5
100% fade of Wazzu. They've lost both games this year, one to Idaho, the other to a down Davidson team. This is a big problem for Coach Riley, especially considering his guys are probably not even thinking about tonight, when Washington is coming to town on Friday. Tommies are the better team, in a much better spot.
Thats all I got. More than I probably would like, but it is what it is. GL everyone!
