I have Michigan/Nova Final in my brackets with Michigan winning it all. Michigan finishes the deal tonight, Nova about to get a big surprise, they haven’t played a D like this.

Let’s Go BLUE!

Hey Dirtbag, how about this data to chew on? I would assume you are logical and reasonable person.....From SBR forums who make it their job to inform bettors with statistical analysis:

" Nova is the nation’s top scoring team recording 86.8 points per game, and has punished hot defenses like Michigan all season. Versus opponents holding foes to under 46.0 percent from the floor in their last five games, the Cats are 22-2 SU and an eye-catching 19-4 ATS, putting up 87.7 points a night."

Uh, Michigan has a stellar defense holding foes to under 46%, so do you think the Cats are going to motivated as a senior team trying to win a Nat. Championship in their final game to do as they always do, stomp on that team with the supposed stellar defense and Vegas not giving them any respect?

If you have bet Michigan and are reading this thread, I suggest you cover yourself by betting the winning margin which usually gives about +350 to +500 for every 3 pts past 1-6 pts on a side.........

Or....you can live for the 'I told you so' non-biased statistical chance and pull off the miracle just so you can brag to everyone that you knew it would happen. I get that everyone loves a Cinderella.

How much do you have on the game, Dirt? If its more than $200, I am shocked that you are confident on your side WITH 7 or 6.5 pts.
Proving is hard. Talk is easy.

Right.....defense wins games. How did that work out for your football team after you lost your QB?

Last2thirst - I get Nova can score....no need to go overboard. They’ve proven it game after game. IMO playing  Michigan will be different...there not going to just flip over and commit the same mistakes like other teams have... Wolverines is  going to want Nova to shoot the ball and be impatient offensively..not what Nova will do....”patience” is key to a Nova victory...if Nova becomes impatient, Michigan will benefit....not like they did w/ Loyola..beating them one-on-one...not going to happen vs Nova- a very good defensive team!  I just think game will be close throughout. Defense will win this game....both teams are high with this strategy. I foresee game gsttjng below the Under.

If anything books are giving a lot of respect to Nova..there hasn’t been a Favorite going  in a championship game favored as much as Nova has in some time...if anything I see it as a disrespect to the Michigan team.

The Also...key stat for tonights game....Coach Beilinen is on win 799.  Winning 800 for him is a huge milestone. What it would mean if they got the W for him tonight would mean more than getting 800.

Just shut up, several teams have hung around with nova. No one said they were losing but stop making it seem like they’re the greatest team ever. Going in every thread sucking nova off like chill bruh

Haven't really followed much college basketball this year but isn't Michigan the best defense Nova has faced all season long?   Not many posters are talking about that strong defense that Michigan plays.  That defense could lead to turnovers and missed shots which could set panic in for Nova.

Wrong. Simply and ignorant and incompetent remark. Teams that get into the tourney don’t get in because they suck. Both Nova and Michigan has played quality teams w/ very unique styles of play. A more  accurate statement would be a team with zero to 5 wins as sucking. Hope this clarifies things a bit more. Best of luck tonight.

Michigan plays the right style of team basketball that can beat Nova.  Yes they are a bit dependent on the 3 ball but you'll have to be to beat Nova anyway.  Should be a tight game throughout

If anyone thinks this game will be easy for Nova tonight, they shouldn't be betting.

Agree. Michigan’s style of play is very unorthodox. If a team falls behind, it’s very hard to get adjusted wth rhythmic play. I see Nova adjusting late in the ball game. Could very well be playing catch up the entire game.

Ya know what? Let’s just not play the game. I mean if EVERY game were decided simply by stats compiled off past performance, this game will be a dud, right? I mean every swinging media pud loves Villanova, ESPN loves Villanova and I guess the end all be all site that’s just full of “facts and integrity”, has picked Nova too. Anybody backing Michigan shouldn’t even tune in I guess.....I suggest you make your bet buddy and let everyone else decide for themselves what they want to bet with their money. In my eyes along with people who have watched sports in the last 12 months, anything can happen tonite. Good luck to all but let’s play the game. Michigan’s defense is pretty damn good and if nova relies solely on the 3, we’ve heard the ole statement...”live by the 3, die by the 3”.....

For the “experts on covers”, if it were as easy as continually lining up and getting nova to cover, I will call the grandparents after this post and inform them Nova is “easy money”. It’s beyinf me how some think the books are just gonna hand money out in the largest bet college basketball game of the year.

Based on conventional responses from sports analyst & public forums its probably safe to assume public money is on a Nova and sharps could come flowing Michigan’s way closer to game time.

I think most folks misperceive what Nova did to to their opponents in comparison to the task Michigan can potentialy have in a Championship game. Both equally qualified of winning... Could be totally  wrong...Could be a blowout from the get go, w/ Michigan laying an egg?

I just feel trap is set for Nova bettors to bite. Could also mean Books is a little giving ( but cmon who are we kidding??? we all know, they’re snakes and are here for the $$$)

Enjoy reading the feedback...keep them coming

Books NEVER give in when it comes to big bet games like tonite. I’m crazy in the minds of the purists because I’m my eyes there are always more things to take into account than statistics; for me, it’s ubderstanding the books agenda and the organization involved. Nova SHOULD pound Michigan tonite but how many times have we all said that in the tournament with favorites getting beat? A lot! Novas last few games have really stamped into people’s minds that no matter what, they’ll win but I see the sane with Michigan in a a way. They may not have lit up the scoreboard like nova has but Michigan has adapted to each game very well. They can score when they need to and they can defend as well. Defense is ALWAYS a mainstay when it comes to championships. Offense is great but it can be an uncontrolled variable at times in that if a team RELIES on hitting shots, they can win games that way but they can also lose games. The nova backers will point to Michigan going 2 of 17 at one point from 3 but what about the defensive lock down they out on Loyola when it mattered? I could argue that Kansas was just as overrated as Loyola but because if the history and jersey name, people would scoff at that saying Kansas was every bit as good as their record. Totally disagree. Tonite comes down to three things and these three things usually will win or lose a game for a team: turnovers, rebounding and free throws. If Michigan guards that 3, nova will be brought down to earth very quick. If Michigan can hit their free throws just once here, they have a great shot. I’ve saud it before and I will say it again, the refs will play a huge role here tonite. If every little touch is a foul, Nova will win but if they let them play, it only helps the best defensive team tonite, Michigan. 7 points is a gift if you are Nova backers in that they’ve won every tournament game by double digits. So think about it people: if nova has beat every body by double figures and they’ve beat big name teams and Michigan struggles with Loyola, why isn’t spread the more? Hmmmmm.....in my eyes, the NCAA NEEDS a great final game especially with all the corruption, one and done talk and one of the weakest semi final Saturday’s I’ve seen in years. Will everybody step aside for nova AGAIN or will the hottest, best defensive team get the call tonite? You give me 7? Call me a sucker but in my eyes, nova played their best game of the tournament Saturday and Michigan played their worst Saturday. Something tells me we reverse things tonite and we see a very focused Michigan team and a nova team that doesn’t hit over 20 3s. I could be wrong but I love my Michigan boys tonite

Well said Achilies. Hit the nail on the head. Refs, rebounding, free throws, and turnovers all will be a huge factor.

Assuming refs will let them play & be physical considering it’s a title game -edge Michigan...less shots from the line, more turnovers, etc.

Rebounding - Both are pretty aggressive on the boards and are fundamental with boxing or the shooter. If Nova goes cold, & misses 3’s it could benefit Nova with long rebounds. I think Nova will play verg conservative...which could backfire with rebounding edge.  Could go either way.

Free throws- Edge Nova. No question about it.  Michigan needs to play smart and keep their hands up. Big factor if Michigan can’t  knock their FT w/ less than 5 minutes to play.

Turnovers - Edge Michigan. From what I’ve read, Michigan turnover ratio is very low..top 25 if I’m not mistaken.

Overall should be a great game to end the season. Good luck and Go Blue!!

Tippy- Call it for what you want. No question Nova is the most talented team between these 2 squads. I just think Michigan might just come out with the better mojo. Confidence is rising for this team, where Novas confidence level has been there all year. Nova in this game and time has found its true competitor. Win or lose, no better team is more deserving than the 2 that remain.

Good luck LB. Happy to see us on the same side. I don't comment often at all but I always respect your judgement.
