Adding:

- Drake -1 vs. Bradley ( 2 Units)


Big time revenge game after Bradley straight up embarrassed Drake just last week.  I do think at times the revenge angle is overrated in college ball, but when you get blown out by 26 just a week earlier and then get a rematch on a nuetral court....  I tend to take the better team who just had a bad game on the road.

I look for Drake to control tempo and hit the shots they couldn't hit at Bradley.

I'm on VMI as well...just watched the first half and man I don't think I saw VMI block out one guy the whole time.  They got absolutely abused on the boards...worse than I thought they would.  Hope they pick it up in the 2H

Thats just the way VMI plays.... the turnovers they force  & there offensive rebounds usually makes it even out in the end.

They only forced 6 TOs... but they do have more 2nd chance points then CCU, and only getting outrebounded 23-16, though it seemed like more.

Yeah, I know that is the way they play, but it just seemed like more I guess.  Hope VMI comes out hot to start the 2H, gl

Turns out VMI was the one that ran out of gas.... Why VMI didn't press all game really surprises me, but I guess they felt like they couldnt win in a trackmeet with Coastal Carolina..

love reading your posts. very informative. as a big fan of the big east, i would love to hear your input of who the new coach of pc will be. i have heard a few rumors as well, however i dont know the sources.

Really busy today with work and other things... Can't do any writeups.

My plays for today:

- Loyola Marymount +6.5 (3 Units- BIG PLAY)
- Loyola Marymount +245 (1 Unit)

This is my POD... I feel like LMU is destined for a run in the WCC tourney.  Coming into the season, they were supposed to be the 2nd best team in the WCC... While they have definitely underachieved, there luck has been amazingly bad.  They have lost 6 games by one possession since the middle of January alone.... They have a good team who just hasn't got the results... and these are exactly the kind of teams that surprise in conference tournaments.  Its also a big revenge game as LMU lost to Portland twice this year... one in OT that they let slip away, and the one recently at home where they got blown out in a letdown game just 2 nights after letting a great oppurtunity slip at home vs. Gonzaga.

I actually put money on LMU to win WCC Tourney, and I think a magical runs begins tonight...


- Bradley +6 1H vs. Wichita State (2 Units)

Expect Wichita State to get off to a very slow start similar to what happened with Missouri State today...Bradley played yesterday, and are therefore more comfortable with the arena so far.

- Cleveland State -3 vs. Wright State (2 Units)

Its just a bad all around matchup for Wright State... Cleveland should win by 10+

- Mercer/Belmont Over 134.5 (2 Units)

The last 5 and 9 out of 10 meetings between the teams have gone over 134 easily..This isn't at a neutral site where both teams arent familiar with the rims and surroundings.. Its at Mercer, and I don't se either team struggling at all from the field.



Thats it for tonight..... Might not be around for alot of the day tomorrow, but will try to find time to get my plays in.

Oakland -13.5 vs. Southern Utah (2 Units)

Oakland is far and away the top team in the Summit League.. When they are focused, like they will be in the opening round tonight, no team will be able to stay within 15 points of them.

Keith Benson is a beast, and no one from Southern Utah can match up at all with him.  In the two matchups, Benson had 32 points and 24 rebounds.  Oakland won both games easily including a 14-point win just last week in Utah despite shooting just 38%.

There is no reason to think that the Thunderbirds can hang with Oakland... A focused Oakland team is bad news for the Summit League.

Hartford +1.5 vs. Maine (2 Units)

Maine is limping into this tourney, and they are REALLY struggling.  After starting the year off great, 14-7 at one point including  win over Penn State, they are just 1-7 in there last 8 games.  A promising season has turned into a very disappointing one.

There opponent in the quarters? A team that they had no success against even when they were winning.  Hartford won both matchups, by 2 points and 9.... With the way Maine has struggled the last month, and the tournament being held in Hartford's home where they beat Maine 74-65 just a month ago, I really like Hartford's chances.

Eastern Washington +11 vs. Weber State (3 Units- Big Play)
Eastern Washington ML +500


EWU is my POD.  I can't believe how far this team has came, but they are looking great coming into the tournament.   They started the year at 4-13, but have turned into around and are 6-6 in the last 12 to end the year..... and come into tonights game after there two best performances of the season:  Overtime win vs. Montana, and road dominant performance over Weber State.

The line is assuming that last weeks game at Weber was just a fluke.  Being familiar with both teams and having watched that, it was NOT a fluke, and Eastern Washington was the better team.  You wouldn't believe if you watched them play in November, but they have gone a long ways and there young players have finally come together as a team.... They will probably be a top 2 Big Sky team next year.

Back to this matchup... its an all around bad matchup for Weber.  They have absolutely no answer to Ederaine inside.  Whenever they needed a basket, they gave the ball to him and there was nothing that Weber State could do about it.  Are they going to hit 9 out of 19 3's like they did Tuesday night?  Probably not... but there confidence will be sky high, and they have a good chance at pulling another upset.... no matter what, it should be a close game throughout and the 11 points is a gift.
