Where to find the best cheap craps in Las Vegas 🎲
If you’ve ever walked through a casino and heard a group of people cheering, high-fiving, and screaming, chances are they were crowded around a craps table. Craps is by far the most fun game in the casino.
There are a few reasons for the fun. Typically, all players are standing at attention. This brings more alertness to the game unlike sitting around a blackjack table. It’s rare to find a sleepy craps game when there’s a full table of players.
Craps also offers more types of bets than any other game. There are wagers with a very low house edge and those with a large house edge that pay in multiples large enough to make people scream.
Most Vegas Strip casinos only offer 3x or 4x odds. The Strat is the only Vegas Strip casino that offers 10x odds – and the minimum bet for this game is usually $15, according to Vegas Advantage.
Here are the Las Vegas casinos that offer better odds on craps with a minimum bet under $25:

Getting comfortable at the craps table 😎
Craps can be intimidating for new players. The size of the table, number of players, and variety of bets might be daunting at first.
Additionally, the player rolling the dice (the shooter) will directly impact the wagers on the table. This can make new players nervous that they might ruin someone else's experience. While players don’t typically get angry about a bad roll, it’s understandable for a player to feel as though they’re letting others down when they crap out.
A hot shooter is the most popular person at the table and probably the casino. It’s a rush that cannot be matched by any other casino game.
It took me many visits to casinos before I stepped up to play craps for the first time. Even after getting the guts to play, I passed the dice many times before rolling because I wanted to know what I was doing.
After learning the game, craps became my favorite in the casino.

Craps odds, bets and payouts 💵
When first playing craps, it's easiest to start from the outside of the table and slowly move inside. A passline bet is the most simple bet at the craps table, so we’ll stick with this.
This bet will pay even money on the come-out (first) roll if the shooter hits a 7 or 11 and will lose if they roll 2, 3, or 12.
If they roll any other number, that’s called the point. If that number is rolled again before a 7, the players on the passline will win. It’s that simple.
There’s a 1.4% house edge on this bet that can be lowered by placing *free odds* on the passline bet. This is a major appeal of playing craps.
Depending on the Las Vegas casino, playing the maximum odds can bring the house edge all the way down to 0.1%.
Most Vegas Strip casinos offer 3x or 4x odds (with some going as high as 5x). The odds available depend on the point.
This means the player may bet up to three times their passline bet on the odds if the point a 4 or 10, four times if the point is 5 or 9, and five times if the point is 6 or 8.
Odds bets will pay 2:1 when the point is a 4 or 10, 3:2 for 5 or 9, and 6:5 for 6 or 8.
The odds payouts are based on how frequently the numbers are rolled since there's no built-in house edge for the casino.
When you leave the Vegas Strip, you’ll find casinos that offer as much as 20x odds.
Players can also place odds on “Come” bets, which happens after the point is established. These are the other craps bets with the lowest house edge because of the free odds. We can explore this when looking at the bets inside the passline.
Both bets stay on until the points are hit or when the dealer craps out. The low house edge should allow players to keep their bankroll in play longer, which can increase the time on the table which gives a better chance of walking away as a winner.

Free drinks at Vegas craps tables 🍹
Yes, most Vegas casinos offer free drinks while you’re playing craps – it’s one of the little perks of parking yourself at the table. But don’t expect bottle service. Here’s what to know:
-
Cheap tables = slow service
Lower-limit tables won’t exactly have servers sprinting to your side. The whales in the high-limit rooms are tipping better, and it shows.
-
You have to actually be playing
Don’t expect a steady stream of Jack & Cokes if you’re just standing around watching. You need to be placing bets to stay on the server’s radar.
-
Tip, or go thirsty
The drinks might be free, but the tips aren’t. Slide your server a buck or two per drink and you’ll likely see them more often.
-
Don't expect the great stuff
Most comped drinks are basic – think well liquor and domestic beer. If you want the fancy stuff, ask nicely (and don’t be shocked if they say no).
-
Service pace is a crapshoot
How fast you get your next round depends on the crowd, your tip game, and whether the server sees you as a low-roller or someone worth keeping hydrated.

Las Vegas craps FAQs
The overwhelming majority of craps tables require a $10 minimum bet – but Ellis Island has the distinction of being the only Vegas casino presently offering up to 10x returns at a minimum bet of $5.
Only two casinos in Las Vegas provide craps players with up to 20x – Main Street Station, which requires a $15 minimum bet; and Sam's Town, which accepts bets as low as $10.
The house edge in craps isn't fixed, as each outcome depends heavily on how frequently each number is rolled. However, if you play the maximum odds, the house edge at some casinos could be as low as 0.1% in certain situations.
Yes — most Las Vegas casinos offer free drinks while you’re actively playing craps, but service is slower at low-limit tables and tipping your server is expected.
