@Illwildcats I thought the Jets/Bengals would go over 17 2nd half. A total of 6 points were scored. |

@Crusher13 Good call! Fields was just about to cover his rushing total, then drops it. Sad. |

Not only the spread, touts and public were all over the over, which looked like a moose, but just squeaked in. |

@JohnnyZ1976 Taylor ain't no dumb bimbo. More like Kelsey is the mastermind's boy toy. Combine the pop music fans and the football fans, you get a media juggernaut. |

The league deliberately strives for parity, and takes pride that "on any given Sunday, any team can beat another." The huge participation suggests that the line gets moved to a "consensus" point. Everything gets factored in. All the "professional gamblers" I've ever heard of did it with poker, or blackjack, or college sports. They don't try to outsmart an NFL line, and yes, the NFL is the hardest to bet, in part because everyone is betting it. |

The Covers article (Jason Logan) "...if you check out my “Bet Now, Bet Later” feature on Sunday nights, you’ll see I quickly took the Over 44.5 on this total, which has surged a full field goal to 47.5." The rationale was that these are two mediocre defenses who will give up points. Of course, it's not over yet. Only need four touchdowns and a field goal. |

In recent decades, the sophisticated replay systems are used to spot the ball. They didn't think the chains were needed. He was short.

I picked "yes" on Game Three, then had to watch Murrey become high scorer on meaningless foul shots. |

I agree with you, but it seems history had role: The race was expected to be one of the closest ever, with polling of league voters showing a dead heat between Embiid and Jokic late in the season. Embiid won easily with 73 first-place votes and 25 seconds, as voters were swayed by his dominance, the narrative of him winning his first award, perhaps rejecting Jokic as a three-time winner, and watching Jokic miss several games over the final two weeks. This has been a very impressive run, sir, congratulations! But no one, I hope, thought it would go on forever... Game three now appears to be the fluke, the one game to avoid a sweep. Even that one was close (uncalled goal tend late, missed buzzer beater, players with unsustainable three-point shooting percentages), Game four, all the elements of size, Joker, and Murray came back together. I don't think Miami wins another. I thought one of your picks was the under (I bet before the final reveal). And that's the way I went. Lost a parlay with Miami and the Under, but the others carried the day. Game four, I like Nuggets first half. Best of luck to all. I called the tinnitus hot line, but it just kept ringing. |

I had the same trap feeling. Thanks for your analysis. There's a similar scenario with tomorrow's game, "Lakers back home will be invincible!, and the historical stats back it up." |

@PeAceMaKer7690 A tie goes to the receiver, so even if they both had it, would have been Georgia ball. But it was clearly more in control by Georgia player anyway. So not much to talk about. |

NFL is set up to create overs. Fans love scoring, and rules have been modified to provide more of it. Public loves overs, so they're usually a little over priced. Generally, I don't like totals, but it's not over 'til it's over, unless it's an over, and then it's over when it's over. Sometimes a lot of points get scored in the second half, and sometimes they don't. The game always seems too slow when I have an under, and too fast when I have an over. |

@Nauticasail With Tom Brady trying to crank up his last hurrah, and the Cardinals in disarray, it looks like the Bucs to me. But I had to tease them with the Cowboys to get back to a reasonable spread. Still time to tease them with the Chargers. |
