Appalachian State 66, Campbell 0: Marcus Cox ran for 114 yards and two touchdowns as the host Mountaineers pounded their in-state rival for their first win as an FBS school.

Kameron Bryant went 10-of-17 for 149 yards and two touchdowns for Appalachian State (1-1), which scored on all six of its first-half possessions and added a Doug Middleton 52-yard interception return. Simms McElfresh had five catches for 81 yards and two scores as the Mountaineers outgained the Fighting Camels 538-95.

Ricky Fergerson added two rushing touchdowns in the second half for Appalachian State. Quarterbacks Dakota Wolf, David Salmon and Riley Gallaher combined for 9-of-23 for 39 yards and three interceptions for Campbell (0-2) in the loss, which was extended because of a 53-minute weather delay during halftime.

Bryant hit McElfresh and Barrett Burns for touchdowns on back-to-back drives for a 17-0 lead early in the second quarter and Terrence Upshaw added a 10-yard touchdown run less than three minutes later. After Middleton's pick, McElfresh caught a 39-yard touchdown pass from backup Taylor Lamb for a 38-0 lead with seven minutes left and Cox punched it in with 64 seconds left for a 45-0 halftime lead.

The teams traded interceptions on three straight drives late in the third quarter, the last grabbed by the Mountaineers' Stephen Machanic deep in Campbell territory to set up Fergerson's 11-yard touchdown run. Fergerson's 7-yard score in the fourth quarter set Mountaineers' biggest win since beating Arkansas-Monticello 67-0 in 1941.
