The first Sunday of the 2014 season is finally here. Last season we forecasted the Super Bowl (right here on covers) as the Seattle Seahawks versus the Houston Texans. That projection couldn't be more right as the Seahawks would go on to win the Super Bowl. As well as being more wrong it seemed we cursed the Houston Texans so badly they finished with the worse record in the league and also ended up chasing their head coach out of town. Enough about last season AFC East Patriots 10-6 Jets 8-8 Bills 7-9 Dolphins 6-10 AFC North Steelers 9-7 Bengals 8-8 Ravens 7-9 Browns 7-9 AFC South Colts 9-7 Titans 8-8 Texans 8-8 Jaguars 3-13 AFC West Broncos 10-6 Chargers 10-6 Chiefs 8-8 Raiders 6-10 AFC Playoff Teams Patriots - Steelers - Bengals - Colts - Broncos - Chargers
NFC East Eagles 9-7 Cowboys 8-8 Redskins 8-8 Giants 5-11 NFC North Packers 10-6 Bears 9-7 Vikings 7-9 Lions 6-10 NFC South Saints 11-5 Buccaneers 8-8 Falcons 7-9 Panthers 7-9 NFC West Seahawks 12-4 49ers 11-5 Cardinals 9-7 Rams 5-11 Playoff Teams AFC Patriots - Steelers - Bengals - Colts - Broncos - Chargers NFC Eagles - Packers - Saints - Seahawks - 49ers - Cardinals Super Bowl New Orleans Saints versus New England Patriots Super Bowl Champions New England Patriots |

Signed, Sealed and Delivered The "FLOP" works wonders in the 2nd Half |

RDSRT4 We both saw the "flop" for what it was. A signal for good ole boy Wade Phillips to come in and blow a game that the Texans most likely should have won. |

Kinda keeping with the crazy theme running here. Who knew that ole Gary Kubiak would do what they call in the NBA a "flop" at the half which would signal good ole Wade Phillips to come in as the coach and "cook the books". |
JakeLake720 | 30 |

|
RDSRT4 is right Wade Philips is well known for blowing games his team should have won. |

Maybe unlike Pete Rose, Gary bet on a game his team was playing. Unfortunately he had his money on the Colts. Great way to try and postpone the game. (Just Kidding) |

Taking a look at two of the NFC divisions pre-season predictions. That of the NFC East and South. Giants Cowboys Redskins Eagles 10-6 9-7 8-8 7-9 Giants OVER 9 wins. Cowboys OVER 8 1/2 wins. Redskins push at 8 wins. Eagles UNDER 7 1/2 wins. Taking a positive spin on this division. The Cowboys, Redskins and Eagles all seem to be playing to my expectations. Cowboys appear to be a team that should get back in the playoffs most likely by winning this division. Redskins, the fact that RG III didn't play in the pre-season be the reason this team doesn't land in the playoffs. RG III the first quarter of the season just didn't look right his timing was off. Redskins were 1-4 first five games however they've won two of their last three games that lost being a game versus the Bronco's the game itself was a tale of two halves. Redskins were amazing in the first half while abysmally disappointing in that second half. Upcoming games versus the Vikings and revenge game versus the Eagles before they play the 49ers should have these Redskins likely back to a 500 team. Giants called for them to win this division and through the first six games of the season this team looked anything but an NFL team. Currently riding a two game win streak and on a bye week this week rest up and potentially fix some issues they were having and a three game home stretch after this bye week could this team be on the rise. NFC South Saints Buccaneers Falcons Panthers 9-7 8-8 8-8 7-9 Saints push at 9 wins. Buccaneers OVER 7 1/2 wins. Falcons UNDER 1O wins. Panthers push at 7 wins. Aside from the Saints. Looks like a total whiff on this division. Falcons look no where near the team they've been the past few seasons. Through the first eight games look like a team that has no interest in playing this season. Meanwhile Panthers seem to have turned the corner and if some way can get through the next 3 weeks with a record of 2-1 or better and both games versus the Saints still upcoming the question is could they overtake the Saints for the division. Two of their three losses was at the start of the season and both games this team had a chance to win those games while their lost versus the Cardinals seemed to be a possible extension of being off a bye week. Ron Rivera and Cam Newton doing some good work in Carolina. Lastly the Buccaneers, really thought Greg Schiano would turn things around here in Tampa however it appears the team is back to their old ways of being a door mat for the league. Although they did have the Seahawks on the ropes today. |

Here at the mid-season point Lets check back on our pre-season predictions and see how the teams are faring. AFC North Bengals Steelers Ravens Browns 10-6 10-6 8-8 6-10 Bengals over 8 1/2 wins. Steelers over 9 wins. Ravens under 8 1/2 wins. Browns to push at 6 wins. Comments: Bengals and Ravens on track to finish on prediction. Meanwhile, Steelers and Browns are two teams heading in different directions. Steelers losing games while the Browns are winning football games. Finish up by saying Mike Tomlin may find himself gone by seasons end if he doesn't fix what's wrong with the Steelers. Watching the games there's plenty wrong with this team, I believe it starts with the offense the Chiefs were not winning games with Todd Haley and the Steelers haven't won many games under his offensive game plans. Steelers haven't had many games with a back over 100 yards since they beat the Giants last season additionally the team haven't won many games since they beat the Chiefs on Monday Night football last season. Steelers now stand 4-15 in all games including pre-season since their win over the Chiefs on Monday Night football. My opinion, it really makes a difference the Browns under Norv Turner are becoming a respectable football team meanwhile the Steelers are becoming a clown of a football team. Being a Steelers fan really difficult watching week in and week out. AFC West Broncos Chargers Raiders Chiefs 11-5 8-8 7-9 7-9 Broncos under 11 1/2 wins. Chargers over 7 1/2 wins. Raiders over 5 1/2 wins. Chiefs under 7 1/2 wins. Raiders and Chargers playing to prediction. Raiders may be on their way back to being a winning football team currently an up and down team may be a couple seasons away from being respectable. While the Chargers seem to be at best a 500 football team. Chargers only have at best three seasons left with Philip Rivers as QB. Can they compete with a solid Chiefs team, a Manning led Broncos team and a Raiders team on the rise. Broncos look to be better than I anticipated. What more can you say Peyton Manning is Awesome. While the Chiefs are playing some incredible football. What a turn around this Chiefs team has made with some really good additions of Andy Reid and Alex Smith. The question is can they win in the post season. |

Here with a look at the playoffs and Super Bowl projections In the AFC Conference Patriots - Bengals - Steelers - Colts - Texans - Broncos In the NFC Conference Giants - Bears - Packers - Saints - SF 49ers - Seahawks Super Bowl projection Seattle Seahawks VS Houston Texans Super Bowl Champions Seattle Seahawks If you happen to be a fan of either the Texans or Seahawks. My apologies in advance as I likely just cursed your team. (just kidding) Back around mid-season to check what projections are right on as well as those that seem helpless. Until then enjoy the season. |

Here with the final Division projections that of the NFC North and NFC West. NFC North Bears Packers Vikings Lions 10-6 9-7 8-8 5-11 Bears OVER 8 1/2 wins. Packers UNDER 10 1/2 wins. Vikings OVER 7 1/2 wins. Lions UNDER 8 wins. In my opinion this division is a battle between the Monsters of the Midway and the guys from Lambeau Field. I'm going to be pulling for the Bears to surpass the Packers. Leaving the Vikings and Lions for third and fourth place as long as Adrian Peterson is healthy believe that's good enough to finish third. NFC West SF 49ers Seattle Arizona St Louis 12-4 10-6 6-10 5-11 49ers OVER 11 1/2 wins. Seahawks UNDER 10 1/2 wins. Cardinals OVER 5 1/2 wins. St Louis UNDER 7 1/2 wins. This division is split into two tiers top level we have the 49ers and Seahawks. Think over a duration of a season the 49ers have the talent to finish first. Seahawks finish in second place. While both of these teams, Cardinals and Rams, would be fortunate to finish with a record of 8-8. I believe the Cardinals are slightly better than the Rams over the stretch of 16 games. Third place goes to the Cardinals and finishing in last place this season the Rams. Just hours before kick-off, enjoy the games. |

Looking at the NFC East and South Divisions today. Giants Cowboys Redskins Eagles 10-6 9-7 8-8 7-9 Giants OVER 9 wins. Cowboys OVER 8 1/2 wins. Redskins push at 8 wins. Eagles UNDER 7 1/2 wins. After missing the playoffs last season Giants make a return. Cowboys to finish second in this division. Redskins to suffer some problems during the season that keeps them out of the playoffs. Finally, Eagles finish in last place, Giants Cowboys and Redskins to much for the Eagles this season. NFC South Saints Buccaneers Falcons Panthers 9-7 8-8 8-8 7-9 Saints push at 9 wins. Buccaneers OVER 7 1/2 wins. Falcons UNDER 1O wins. Panthers push at 7 wins. With Sean Peyton back on the sidelines looking for the Saints to win this division. I believe Greg Shiano keeps doing great things in Tampa. Falcons, as talented as they are going to have a tough go this season. Finally, Panthers a team on the rise could be a season or two a way from being a credible team in this division. Back tomorrow with the NFC North and NFC West plus a look at who will be in the Super Bowl.

A quick look at how I see the AFC North and AFC West playing out this season. Back tomorrow with two more divisions. AFC North Bengals Steelers Ravens Browns 10-6 10-6 8-8 6-10 Bengals beat the Steelers out for first place with a better overall division record. Bengals over 8 1/2 wins. Steelers over 9 wins. Ravens under 8 1/2 wins. Browns to push at 6 wins.
AFC West Broncos Chargers Raiders Chiefs 11-5 8-8 7-9 7-9 Looking for the Raiders by seasons end to surprise many people. On paper they may appear to be lacking talent, however, I'm looking for some surprising results from them this season. Broncos under 11 1/2 wins. Chargers over 7 1/2 wins. Raiders over 5 1/2 wins. Chiefs under 7 1/2 wins. Seasonal win totals as given to me by my sports book. Best of fortunes to all this upcoming season.
