Do you see the picture? The groundskeeper is the slave busting his rear end off for everyone else to make 30-100x more money to be able to afford the hot dog that went up 15x that he can't afford because his salary barely doubled!
You are not taking into account that the Yankees went up in value because of all the money advertisers are paying, the money the team gets for all the MLB licensing of merchandise, the private tv deal, etc..The Yankees made themselves worth more while the groundskeeper is doing the same job on the same size field he did 40 years ago.
If someone making $50k a year can't afford a $7.50 meal they need some money management courses. Just saying. That being said, $7.50 for a dog is a crime. I just got one today at the Suncoast for .75 lol

Point taken, you are correct. Sometimes it feels like a race just to stay even. I've been fortunate to have a good job and a wife that knows how to save/invest. Not sure how anyone not making close to $100k for a family will ever be able to retire on their terms as opposed to having to work until they die. Ah, the land of the free (free to do what the govt tells you).

Its a shame that the poor don’t have as much money as the rich ..What we need to do is take the money the rich have and are unproductively saving and redistribute it to the poor to create economic growth ...let it trickle-up..
Trickle-up economics is the way to go ....let the government take from those that have and give it those that don't have ..forget about the fact that the savings of the rich forms the capital that funds business investment which increases productivity....
Cash redistribution by the government to the groundskeepers of the world will stimulate spending ....in a system of “trickle up” economics prosperity will flow upward from government into the lower and middle classes and ultimately to the upper class.
Spending is the answer ..give people other peoples money and they will spend it.. The Rich have enough money, more money than they need so take away their idle funds and give it to the spenders ..so they can eat out at restaurants every night , buy cars, or go see movies ..buy more stuff at the malls...
Forget about the Laissez-Faire economic philososphy.. Forget about the effective system that built this country. ..Trickle-up economics is the answer... Nevermind that if the bottom gets the funds first-they spend and this makes the top (Capitalists) richer ..Yeah,, trickle-up is the way to go ..

Income inequality is common in the world. Main reason is that top earners have been more successful than most people. Some economists don't consider income inequality to be bad if the overall economy grows. However many disagree because too many poor people is unhealthy for any country. Unfortunately, there is little that governments can do to help the poor.
