Hey Guys,

What do you guys think about RG3 for Heisman?

I laid 20 for 700 at +3500, back on October 14th.

He's now +225, with Texas Tech and Texas left on his schedule.

Thanks,

He won't win. I hate to be a realist... but... he won't get the votes because his team isn't good enough.

Honestly, I think the Heisman deserves to go to the player that means the most to his team. Without a doubt, RGIII is that person.

However, the votes will go to a player on a team competing for a BCS (national championship). Always has, always will...

hard to see him getting it while his team sucks.

RG3 can't win the heisman, i'm very sorry to tell you... it is 100% certain he will not win it... i will never post another word on this site if he does...

this is the Heisman formula, and why he can not win it!

if a team contending for a NC has a viable Heisman candidate, they will always get it over someone with huge stats playing on a middle of the road football team...

Keenum is a viable candidate, because they are making a run at a BCS game and an undefeated year... otherwise, it will go (for sure) to either...

Andrew Luck
Brandon Wheedon
Trent Richardson
Montee Ball

seriously... it is an absolute sure thing that he will not win... that is literally one of the worst bets i've ever seen in my entire life!  it can't win!  not possible...

RG3 trails both Keenum and Wheedon, in yards, TDs and passer rating... AND most importantly, wins!

HE CAN NOT WIN THE HEISMAN!  it is absolutely impossible...

maybe if Griffin was going crazy running the ball this year, but he's really not... only 2 100-yard games, and only 5 rushing TDs...

basically, for Griffin to win it, his stats would have to be so much better than everybody else's, that we wouldn't really even be talking about anyone else... he would have to have the most passing yards, most passing TDs, highest passer rating, AND being tearing it up on the ground...

RG3 should win it, and there really isn't anybody else remotely close in the conversation, he's completely in a league of his own this season. But that said, he probably won't because of the team around him. It's total bullshit, but the reality of the situation. If they beat TTech and then stomp on Texas in resounding fashion, however, he really might have a shot. A lot of the other candidates aren't playing next weekend, and there's a pretty good chance Keenum loses this week too.

moral of the story is... hedge your bet!  hope for RG3 to put up huge numbers the last 2 games, then figure out who is going to win the Heisman (it is almost always 100% obvious by the time the ceremony happens)... and hedge your bet so you at least win some money off of it, because at this point you have too much value to not get something for that bet...

just to clarify, i was referring to the current odds as the worst bet i've ever seen... at +3500 it was good value because you have a viable hedging opportunity...

Yeah it's absolutely impossible in a field full or less than stellar candidates. People seem to be waking up to the fact that the best player doesn't have to play on the best team. Griffin is the best player in CFB and he deserves to win.

Brandon Weeden? Really? Montee Ball? The same guy who plays in the backfield with Russell Wilson? Richardson is probably #1 right now but Griffin is #2. If he puts up huge numbers the rest of the way and they win out then Griffin has a real shot.

i am really shocked to learn that you don't know how this works... so you think RG3 has a less-than-zero percent chance to win?

one of these days i'm gonna see a post from you that impresses me... law of probability demands it!

Hey Andy, go back and write something more creative, your first post in this thread wasn't enough to impress Ice4Blood.

I have 20 to win 100 on Luck as well. Also at the end of the day 20$ isn't going to break the bank, so it being stated that it was the worst bet you have ever seen is a little much.

-500 is a steal, he is over -1000 in many places. He's going to win.

Btw - I got him at +7500 after his first loss. Congrats on not listening to people who don't know what the hell they are talking about. (when it comes to awards like this anyways.)

Nice bet!

Way to work Mattadore.  I got RG3 at +10500 for low money and had to re-up when I saw him at +180.  Jumped to -500 an hour later.  Suck it ICE!
