The article in the link above says
"• The Mtn. network goes away May 31, so the league had to scramble to find TV homes for its marquee games this fall. The league announced a schedule last week that features 23 nationally televised games, with the possibility that more could be added later. CBS (one game), CBS Sports Network (eight), NBC Sports Network (10) and the ESPN family of networks (four) currently are scheduled to show MWC games this fall."

#6 Posted: 5/8/2012 9:30:42 PM Yeah, Idaho and NMSU are well and truly fucked. The most likely outcome for Idaho would seem to be dropping back to FCS level and the Big Sky.
NMSU is a problem. I lived in Las Cruces for a while so I know a little about the program. No conference wants the Aggies. Attendance is terrible. The football stadium is terrible. Las Cruces is a small sliver of a larger TV market (El Paso), which of course has its own team. Historically the Aggies haven't been competitive. They haven't been to a bowl game in my lifetime, and I'm 45! They improved a hell of a lot last year but still rank among the worst FBS teams. Good basketball school, but football is hopeless. |

Maybe they can compete in the Texas High School leagues. Probably would be just a single digit dog most weeks. |

At least that's what they are telling their recruits. |

Well, I suppose if SDSU can play in the Big East, Idaho can play in the MAC. Maybe Florida can move to the Pac-12...regional rivalries are dead. Sucks. Why not combine Oregon, USC, Oklahoma, Texas, Ohio State, Michigan, Alabama and LSU into the "Super 8" conference?

#14 Posted: 5/15/2012 10:50:51 PM Supposedly from what i've read Idaho and NMST will probably move to the sun belt. The sunbelt will have 12 teams and a conference title game. Personally they should move to the mountain west but the mountain west doesn't want either. M.West will be at 10 teams. I thought all this for a conference title game |
