“I was never really sold on the fact that he had to run on turf or Poly,” Romans said. “I think he’s a talented horse who ran very well at Churchill; his brother won the Derby, he ran well on dirt his whole life.”

this is Romans referring to Mine That Bird who  Dullahan is half brother to, i guess romans doesnt know MTBs dirt record to say something stupid like that.

MTB was a whopping 1 for 10 on dirt and NEVER WON a race after the Kentucky Derby

barber i see what you saying about mine that bird...the reason bird won the derby is a great rail triming  trip from cavin BORAIL ....i never even heard of that trainer before and since...dale romans is one of the best trainers in the bussiness..a lot of people did not think,, including me that he could win the met mile with shackelford beating the likes of calebs posse,, bill motts to honor and serve and jackson bend..he has attained the services of one of the best riders  going today and he knows how to get a horse primed and ready to win a big race...the derby and preakness winner is the horse to beat and this young rider is very good but that;s why they call this race the test of champions..like romans said out of respect for the other 11 triple crown winners we gotta make him earn it...

Here's the article that dipshit (AngryBarber) got the Romans quote from.

ARTICLE

What I find funny about that is that a lot of the stuff I was saying about Dullahan BEFORE the Derby is in there.

I said that his first two races on dirt were sprints, which is not his game, and that he could have been a very "green" horse at the time which Romans pretty much confirms was the case.

“I thought we had a talented horse that wanted to stretch out,” trainer Dale Romans said. “I just wanted to get a good race into him that day.”

I also said before the Derby to look at how well Dullahan had worked on dirt at Gulfstream and Churchill.

"Noting that Dullahan worked four furlongs in 45.82 seconds at Belmont – the fastest of 66 works at the distance Sunday – Romans said that “was good enough to think that he is going to handle the dirt here no problem.”

Here's the thread where I said that stuff if somebody wants to look at it.   THREAD   (posts 9 and 10)

It's the same thread where dipshit (AngryBarber) was shooting his big mouth off about the horse not having a prayer on dirt.

The Derby was 5 weeks ago and you still talk about Dullahan like he won the race, HAHAHAHAHA. I think your a bit delusional and obviously have alot of free time on your hands to go back and look at old threads constantly.

You know, you bring up a very interesting point. Yesterday, on DRF, there were 3 stories involving Dull-ahan, one for the potential TC winner. The way I see it, the more attention paid To Dull and the less to IHA and UR, the better the odds.

FYI here, Dullahan has not only never won on dirt but he never hit the exacta either. However he is a Gr.1 winner albeit on poly.

Only 3 horses entered have won a Grade1 race amd most have never won any graded races!  Just saying!

Just heard an amusing stat. We know that IHA has already beat the TC horses in this race, but he has also beat horses who beat every single remaining non-TC horse in the Belmont.

Doesn't mean anything but kind of amusing.

Gambler i agree, boxing the G1 winners in here could very likely be your trifecta. its pretty much the same has the preakness a handful of legit contenders and a bunch of nobodies.

DJ i know you like to look back at previous big races and how horses perform after those races like the Bluegrass. an angle im looking for on saturday is how Hierro runs in Woody Stephens.

I say this in regards to Paynter, ran  a respectable 4th in the SA derby in his 2nd career start and we all know how key the SA derby has turned out to be. IHA going for the triple crown and Creative Cause did not disgrace himself in the derby or preakness.
Hierro beat Paynter next out in the Derby trial and hasnt run since, so im looking forward to see how Hierro runs. very easily could make Paynter alot more intriguing.
