Recap

Blue Jackets 4, Sabres 3 (SO): Ryan Johansen scored the lone goal in the third round of the shootout as visiting Columbus tied a franchise record with its sixth consecutive victory.

Brandon Dubinsky had a goal and an assist and defenseman David Savard and Matt Calvert also scored as the Blue Jackets improved to 16-1-1 when leading after two periods. Sergei Bobrovsky turned aside 26 shots and stopped all three attempts in the shootout to win his fifth straight start since returning from injury. The reigning Vezina Trophy recipient improved to 7-0-0 since Nov. 29 as Columbus won six in a row for the first time since March 24-April 3, 2006.

Defenseman Tyler Myers scored a pair of goals in his 300th career game and Drew Stafford had a first-period tally for Buffalo, which tumbled to its third straight defeat (0-1-2). Tyler Ennis collected two assists and Ryan Miller made 32 saves in losing his second start in a row.

Columbus' resurgent power play, which entered the contest 7-for-24 in January, converted again with the man advantage when Dubinsky corralled the loose puck from a scramble in front and lofted it over a sprawled Miller at 11:21 of the middle session for a 3-2 lead. Myers forced overtime with a dramatic goal with 24.9 seconds left in regulation.

Myers opened the scoring only 59 seconds into the game by converting a wrist shot off a perfect crossing pass from Matt Moulson, but Savard tied it with a one-timer from the right-wing boards at 6:19. Buffalo answered 28 seconds later when Ennis pounced on a giveaway in the slot and fed Stafford for an easy scoop, but Calvert tucked home a backhander off a rebound to knot it at 2-2 after one period.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Moulson had a goal disallowed in the opening minute of the second period when the officials ruled his tap-in of Ennis' shot was a distinct kicking motion. ... Blue Jackets C Mark Letestu assisted on Savard's goal to extend his point streak to five games. ... Columbus D Fedor Tyutin (illness) did not make the trip and missed his second straight game.
