Coyotes 3, Avalanche 2 (OT): Captain Shane Doan completed a three-point performance with his second goal of the game 4:01 into overtime as visiting Phoenix rallied past Colorado.
Defenseman Oliver Ekman-Larsson also scored, Kyle Chipchura notched two assists and Mike Smith made 41 saves for the Coyotes, who have earned at least one point in seven of their last eight games (5-1-2).

Mark Olver and Matt Duchene scored and Varlamov stopped 27 shots for Colorado, which completed a 1-2-1 homestand.
Phoenix opened the scoring midway through the first period as Doan put a backhander past Varlamov from the right side of the net at 9:10. Olver beat Smith with a one-timer from the top of the slot at 2:24 of the second and Duchene converted a breakaway chance just over three minutes later, but Ekman-Larsson forged a tie with 8:21 remaining in the third with a shot from the right faceoff circle.
