No. 2 Oregon 55, California 16: Byron Marshall rushed for a career-high 130 yards and two touchdowns and Marcus Mariota accounted for three scores as the Ducks routed the visiting Golden Bears.

California (1-3, 0-1 Pac-12) fumbled on each of its first four drives and trailed 27-0 following a disastrous first quarter. Marshall scored twice in the quarter after leading rusher De'Anthony Thomas suffered a leg injury on the opening kickoff and did not return.

Mariota completed 11-of-25 passes for 114 yards and had 33 yards rushing before sitting out much of the second half for Oregon (4-0, 1-0 Pac-12), which has scored at least 50 points in four straight games for the first time in school history. The Ducks finished with 381 total yards, including 264 rushing.

California freshman quarterback Jared Goff, who entered the game as the nation’s leading passer, was benched late in the first quarter in favor of Zach Kline, who finished 18-of-37 for 165 yards with one touchdown and one interception. Goff lost two fumbles and completed 3-of-6 passes for 11 yards in his first career road start.

Bralon Addison had two punt returns for touchdowns, including a 67-yard return with 13:14 left in the third quarter to put the Ducks ahead 48-3. Thomas Tyner added a 15-yard touchdown run on Oregon’s next possession and finished with 94 yards on 13 carries.
