Chicago starter Jose Quintana (9-7) yielded four runs and six hits over seven innings to take the loss after winning his previous two outings.

Giavotella walked to lead off the fourth and trotted home when Perez hit the first pitch from Quintana out to left field for his 13th blast of the season and a 2-0 lead. The White Sox cut the deficit in half in the bottom of the frame when Ramirez hit his sixth on the first pitch he saw from Chen.
