These are prolly the two Ive followed most over the past 2 years of watching ATP/WTA closely.
As I've said a few other times. I still dont think the books have caught onto Peer and how well she has played over the last year. Understandable seeing she was injured for along time and comes from a small country and isnt a top 15 player.
Peer is a pusher. She plays excellant defence. She has as much heart/fight as any player on tour and she plays clean tennis, not many UE's. The problem she has had in the bigger tournaments is she will go on a 3-4 round run and then run into a player that just has too many weapons for her (mainly a big serve). Safina certainly will not scare Peer with her serve and Peer should really take advantage of alot of 2nd serves. She is not going to get hit off the court and thats a big plus going into the match mentally.
Peer also has had success against Dinara going 3-3 in the H2H.
I like Safina and always cheer for her to pull thru matches because it means so much to her but right this moment I think Peer is the more reliable and trustworthy player. I fully expect for Peer to impose her will on this match and Dinara will prolly have a semi mental meltdown. I think Peer has the better mind and it will show in this match.

Interesting that the H2H is 3-3 yet Peer has won the last 3 matches including all 3 in 2008 just as Safina was starting to get hot and turn into a top 10 player.
Safina's record on clay is fantastic, but she might need a few more matches under her belt. One match in 3 months is not an ideal prep against a girl as talented as Peer.
You got a great price at +100 as Peer will start favourite

I thought you might come out of the woodwork with this play knowing the price and how you feel about Peer. I am leaning Peer as well. (not sure if I think the money will move toward her; Safina winning the third set 6-0 yesterday will lead many to think she was just shaking the rust off the first two sets and see the third as an indication she is back, which she is not fully yet) Safina showed flashes yesterday and did what she had to but her movement looked horrible and Peer should be able to expose it. To me Peer is a way better playerthan Agnes and a much sterner test. It is not a strong lean though. Doubt I would bet more than a unit here. Great to see you back and GL!

I too have followed Shahar and love her game and that said I find little sexiness in her too. Today I passed on the whole board for one large play on her. Safina hit yesterday thanks, but today I was waiting to wake up to Peer, motivated, and if we can get Henin upset a chot at winning this event. Good luck.

That's what I thought the scoreline would be after Szavay was up 4-1 in the 1st set. I was on Peer vs Radwanksa and Szavay yesterday against Safina. After Szavay handed the 1st set to Safina, I was over it.
