Virginia I think is the only ACC team with a 3-4 Defense. Any thoughts on how this base defense matches up with GT's triple option? Held them to 17 pts last year so i'm thinking they match up pretty well scheme-wise...

Akron returns 15 starters including the qb, and the receivers should be better...actually the offense as a whole should be better. They were a 26 pt dog against a then ranked 15 wisconsin team and easily covered in that one. Akron's gonna be throwing a lot so i took a close look at the qb. He was pretty inconsistent last year with good games against wisconsin and mac champs buffalo but stunk it up in other games. I think he'll be more consistent this year (better). PSU's only question on D is their youth in the 2ndary so that is why i'm staying away from this one. |

Great write up Craig, I don't think people realize the amount of research that goes into a post like this. I'm going through the same exercise myself.
One small detail I disagree with, Vandy's line will be as big as any in the league. 6 guys 6'5" or taller, 4 guys over 300 lbs. Almost everyone returns. Their line will be top 5 in the league. Cheers |

That's not money management, that's your betting strategy. Two completely different things. Good point, a typical unit bet was 5% of my initial deposit. Tried to keep a max bet 4 units. But never adjusted the 5%. Still very new to this side of betting. When do you guys adjust your base unit bet, assuming your using the confidence strategy? |

Thanks Cal, I'm thinking VT, LSU, and Ole Miss are going to be underrated next year, could be some generous lines out there.

Well i would have been up a lot more if the magic would have taken the series, but i at least got something out of the finals hedging with the lakers in 5 series bet.
Beginning with the football season last year, and ending with the finals, I finished the year up 27% In year 1 I only bet college football, nfl playoffs and nba playoffs. My money management consisted of betting based on confidence. I handicapped the game then read the forums here to see if some of the well respected cappers on here had the same opinion. I was probably only around 55% overall, but because I bet on confidence and hit on some parlays my winnings grew. In year 2 I will be playing with house money only. I will increase my unit wager, eliminate all parlays with more than 2 teams, and keep the confidence bets going. I think i've learned a lot about handicapping also and will continue to get better at it. Eventually i want to have accounts at several online sportsbooks to shop for lines, and be able to make withdrawls on a regualr basis to supplement my income. I realize this is probably the goal of many here, so any general tips or advice from experienced cappers is appreciated. Thanks! |

They have to nickel and dime their readers. I agree with Simmons that the refs shat on Orlando late in the game last night Hellen Keller knows the refs were against the magic last night...and saying he's the best on espn.com is like saying he's the smartest retard on the short bus. |

1) He's just a boston sports homer with a journalism degree, but for some reason he thinks he's an expert.
2) Espn plasters him all over their website despite his clearly boston biased drivel. 3) Hasn't yet come out with the sequel to his book "Now I Can Die" with "Now I Can Die knowing That Manny Ramirez Has Tainted Boston's World Series Titles" 2) He's dumping all over the finals just because his celtics lost. 3) He's the only writer on espn who doesn't allow comments on his article (probably due to the overwhelming name-calling that would ensue). 4) Never misses an opportunity to bash the magic proving he's still bitter man and a sore loser. Feel free to add your own. |

Seriously? Still with the panic? I'm pretty sure he got rid of that label after he beat bos on the road in game 7 then sent the nba poster child home in 6. Anyways there was only 1 or 2 sec difference in the shot clock if i remember right, that's clearly not enought time to get the rebound and call a TO and then expect to have enough time to get a shot off. |

I saw that too, problem is that happens 3 or 4 times a game and you never see it called. Would have been nice...
