When I was being a racist, breaking all the rules and dissing all kinds, it was all right, no boxing, nothing. But when I went on a winning streak and my picks were hot, I got banned.

How did I get myself into this? A losing streak, $500 at a time.
Why did he take 5-10% off my winnings? Because he could. And he knew I would still keep coming back, my winning streak seemed unstoppable. But 5% a week... do you seriously think it's fair??? Compounded, that's like 1164% annual! So that 3k would become over $33k in a year.
Why would I leave town? I am a student living with parents, in-between semesters with family all over the country. If I moved 3000 km away, what is he going to do? And no HE IS NOT A BOOKIE. He is a cardroom owner. He, himself used to tell me (and show me) a spread sheet with all the people owing him money. He said it was totalling over $100k and a few of them are bound to disappear. But the great majority of them pay and that the little loss is the cost of running an underground cardroom. But people pay him not because they are afraid of getting hurt, but because if they don't, they won't be able to play at any cardroom in town ever again. As we all know, degenerate gamblers are more afraid of not getting action, someone in the family finding out then having their legs broken. |

When a BOOKIE loses, He PAYS
When a PLAYER loses, He PAYS
That's the way it works.... What makes you think you could just say " go f... yourself, I'm not paying" You really deserve what you got coming
YOU BETTER PAY HIM SOMETHING, BEFORE IT GETS WORST!
Ok. I realized this was the wrong forum cause apparently no one takes a post seriously. Sell my wife? Make a bet? OREO COOKIE? WTF? But this is one useful post (out of 30). So if I paid him 3k over the next 2 months, will it be okay? What if I just leave town? What then? I don't have much to lose you know, I was one step away from bankruptcy. What if I told him I left town? I used to be a bookie and I got stiffed quite a few times for $400-500... and once a player lost money to me in cards and failed to pay me. In fact, he threatenned me! He was like "if you ever call me again, you will be in the hospital". The cardroom owner would want to get paid, yes but I also brought him some good business. And a few years ago I kind of stiffed a bookie for $300. I told him I was in a different town but I was going to mail him the money on a weekly basis. I never did. But that $300 was nothing but accumulated interests on previous late payments. That is why I need experienced opinions here. |

I know this may be a little off topic but I am sure many degenerate here can help me. So I have been playing Poker at this underground cardroom for the past year and a half and I have been very good business. I also brought lots of new action to the club.
However, after borrowing $3k to play with, I have no money to pay the guy. It has been 4 weeks. 2 weeks ago he was telling me he's charging 5% juice a week and that I owed him $3300. I told him I can't afford that kind of juice and for all the business I brought to him, I won't pay no 5% a week juice, that I'll pay him the $3k plus 10% on that amount. He wasn't very happy.
Up until now he hasn't really threatenned me. But he has been using some very intimidating strategies. Like "I hope you don't try to get smart, for your sake" and "The people above me take care of credit" and "I'll just give you BigGuy's number, I am sure he'll want his pay more than me".
Background: When I was a really good customer, we used to discuss business and he would tell me how when peolpe don't pay, he would say those kinds of things but if someone disappears, there is nothing he can really do about it, that the risk is just the cost of business. In fact, he expects a tiny fraction of debtors not to pay him back but that's just the cost of running the business. The question is, how do I handle this? I really have no money. And at 5% a week, I'll never be able to pay him in full. So what happens if I keep on delaying it and one day my balance comes out to be $10,000? I mean that would be unfair right? He lent me money to play at his club and pay him rake. For the year and a half, I never failed to pay him back. But I have now used up (gambled away) my last borrowed dollar.
I know I know, I should make a deal with him. I told him I owe a lot of money and I am making a deal with everyone. But will he really get violent? Will he find out where I live? What if I left town? What if I told him I left town?
Yes I am a douche bag, waste of life, whatever for not being able to pay. But mind you when I had a winning streak at his club, he would take 5%-10% here and there out of my winnings. I think I have paid him more on those extras than that $2k. But when I lost, I never got those few hundreds that I paid him here and there back.
So far I have shown that I really want to pay off my debts and intimidation or not, it won't matter, I just don't have anything, if I had, I would pay him. But seriously, what happens if I told him I left town? Or if I leave town for real? For $3k, after all the business I brought to him, will he just write it off or wait till the juice brings it up to a significant amount and sell my debt to the mob? |
