LAKE SHOW on this 1......Jizz will b lucky 2 take 1 game in this round!!!!!! and if they do i'm thinkin' game 4 just outta desperation. I'm also thinkin' lakers aren't goin' 2 push it 2 the limit in game 3 so i'm puttin' bank on under as well! GL

Haven't lost a game in the 2nd round yet...last loss was taking Washington when Cleveland closed them out. Loving the Jazz here, doubling up on this one. It sets up perfectly. The Lakers won SU and ATS in their two road games against the Nuggets and the Jazz failed to cover in two of their three home games against the Rockets. PLUS, the Jazz got smoked at home the last time they played Lakers in regular season. It's a perfect set up to suck everyone in and make you forget just how good this Jazz team is at home. And in watching these games, they have been closer than the final score indicates.
Jazz -4 doubling up on this one since I'm way up for the week.

Dang... your post just beat me to it. I've noticed that we've been pretty much on the same page in the second round.. which hasn't been bad to us

ok, for everyone with an itchy trigger finger, that's just been dying for the jazz to cover against the lakers, it finally happens here. I'm not convinced that they can take the lakers to 7, but they will definitely cover here. They only lost 4 games at home during the regular season and play miles above their road performances at home. In salt lake, okur will stop being complete garbage and remind you why some people think he's actually an asset to his team, AK will play a little offense to go with that defense. The officials will stop calling a foul on boozer for every 5 minutes he's in the game, and deron williams will show the world that he is one of the best creators in the game.
The jazz aren't happy about getting pounced on twice in LA, but despite the fact that the lakers really controlled both games, the jazz didn't go away, and kept fighting (williams almost covered single handedly in the last few seconds of game 2 with his psychotic 3 pt barage.
plain and simple, this is the jazz's turn and this is where everything stacks up for them.
Jazz -4 (big)
still researching whether or not I want to play that O/U, but my early inclination would be over... the jazz have shown that they can't really STOP the lakers, so they'll probably wind up just outscoring them. Either way, I'm going to do some work on it and figure that out later.

these teams faced twice in utah this year and in each one, the winner was decided in the first half, the first time they faced was with bynum instead of gasol so while it may mean less, i'm going to assume it's relevant enough. In that first utah game, the jazz jumped out to a 70-51 lead (121 pts first half) ... the second game, the gasol-less (post bynum obviously) lakers caught the jazz with their pants around their ankles and went up 60-45 in the first half (105 pts). If you average those out you have 57.5 for the Jazz and 55.5 for the Lakers, for a total of 113 first half points. The Lakers know that the Jazz will get theirs at home and they know that the key to beating the Jazz is to score fast, frequently, and early, while the jazz will be coming out firing, and knowing how big a task they have in front of themselves, and wanting to right their ship from what they let happen to them in LA, they will come out firing. My guess is that the half time score will be somethin like 57-52, with potential for more, but that would cover a first half spread of 108, which is about where I'm guessing this game will be at half, so, all said and done, i'm also on...

Sucker Spread Alert...it would be too easy to take the Lakers tonight..theyre riding high..getting points..and poised to win it all..however this line is just like Det/Orl game with the unofficial "Must Win" situation for the Jazz just like Orlando(and we all know what happened to Detroit late in that game)..Kobe will get his points and love from the refs but Utah has something to prove and lets not forget they were 1 of the best home teams in the league in the reg season (37-4 @ home)and theyre staring down the barrel of in all likelihood a certain death sentence if they go down 0-3...if they dont win another game in this series theyll show up tonight..

Just put another 2 units on the Jazz at -4.5 plus added a series bet at +750. The way I figure it, the Jazz will win at home, so I'll take 7.5 to 1 odds that maybe they win at LA and take the series and today is the last day you'll get these odds if they do happen to win tonight. I know, it's a long shot, but that's why they call it gambling (why don't they just call it "pissing your money away" instead? Too long?).
