I thought that Ron Paul had a very good debate last night.
Until the question of Iran came up. Then he folded as a serious candidate for President. All on principle.
Principle. Of all the candidates, there's no doubt that Paul has been unwavering. He tells you what he thinks is the best policy AND HE STICKS TO IT.
For that I really like Ron Paul. We do need a different kind of politician holding the reins. His stance on the currency thing is correct. He wants the government out of the pesonal lives of American citizens. I even agree with him on foreign policy. I too think that Cheney/ Bush acted irresponsible in starting the Iraq War that costed too many American lives, too many Iraqi lives, too much money . . . all for what? If Saddam Hussein was still in power, he would at least keep Iraq in check and we'd have a million Iraqis alive right now. True he was a madman.
But this is why I think Paul is unelectable. When it comes to defense issues, he says we don't need to be the policemen of the world. We can agree or disagree with that.
But it's how he says it. He's non chalant, not interested, he acts like this is the way I feel, too bad. One thing he's not taking into consideration is this: AMERICANS DON'T LIKE THAT ATTITUDE FROM THEIR COMMANDER IN CHIEF.
Americans want a leader who will stand up and growl about protecting the citizens of this country, even if he doesn't want to go to war.
In the animal kingdom, those who growl the loudest and intimidate their rivals the most. Last night Michele Bachmann looked like a Mother Bear, Ron Paul looked like a mouse.

So you like everything he says, you just want him to talk out his ass like the rest of the Republicans do and fear monger based on a made up reality to sell another war to the American people.
The military can see what is coming that is why they support Ron Paul more than any other candidate. They can see where the warhawks are on their list of 7 countries they want to take out.
What's scary is so many Americans live in fear like you that Ahmadinejad just needs to fart and people will be launching bombs in fear.

What I'm saying is he's blowing it. If you want him elected but he keeps acting scary to Americans, what good is all this effort? Sometimes you got to bite the bullet and give the Americans what they want. I'm starting to think you backers of him are getting a little to defensive. You can't take criticism. To you he can say no wrong.

Missed the debate (really don’t need to hear the BS) and don’t miss it.
He does want the government out of people’s lives, but it has become evident that a lot of people prefer the contrary. The Iraq war was certainly a disgrace.
Good point on charisma. If you got it, it can make weak social, economic and foreign policy look plausible.
I don’t agree with Obama’s philosophy, but he’s got charisma; and promises a utopia that Marx and Lenin promised, which I don’t think in reality is possible.
(not intended as a sleight on your side, Pro, it's just how I see it)
That Michelle Bachmann really adheres to constitutional values. In my opinion, it’s a shame that that great document has been so bastardized.

I got news for you: HE'S TOAST!
you are correct in your analysis
he will never present himself as something he is not
for any reason
the fear some people preach is laughable given our history
i believe he would always act in the american citizens best interest when all the cards on the table
he is a man of his word
many in the military industrial complex fear that more than any nuclear weapon from iran

Don't worry, I'll be here giving it to Obama too, it's just the GOP debate season and the focus is on them. Once again, I think I've said it over and over again that I think Ron Paul would make a good President. But how could he be a good President if he's unelectable because he won't bend?
Principles are principles, but those with the most principles (Bachmann, Santorum, Huntsman, Perry) are losing badly because they refused to be packaged like Romney or Gingrich or for that matter Obama.
Is that right? No, of course not. But when you go to buy a 6-pack of beer, are you going to buy the one that simply says "Beer" or the one with the pretty lady running through the Alps on its label?
Before you guys try to get your candidate in there to change the fundamental way the government does business, YOU HAVE TO WIN THE ELECTION!

Obama is the master puppeteer and has deceived you and many still don't see to be catching on. There hasn't been an honest president since Kennedy, people still believe the presidents make decisions when its just an ending list of puppets working for someone else. RP is that one shot we have, but the deck is stacked, the polls are rigged and the citizens are naive.
Only shot to end this slavery and tyranny is to put an end to the federal reserve but the powers that be will do anything to prevent this from happening.
promark, you should watch the Obama Deception on youtube, you don't seem to get it yet but I have faith. Hopefully everyone will be awakened sooner than later because we're running out of time

I understand what you're saying, but Ron Paul isn't the one that needs to change, it's society. If you want someone who is fake and just says what he thinks his audience wants to hear and flip and flop depending on who that audience is, well you have a lot of choices. I'm not being defensive and I can take criticism, but it's ridiculous to want someone to be fake just to get elected just because all the other candidates do it to get elected. Ron Paul will never do that just to get elected. Ron Paul has been elected 11 or 12 times being himself, being the most consistent in the history of U.S. politics, not wavering, he doesn't need to change.
It's not Ron Paul who's TOAST, it's the U.S.A.
If Ron Paul doesn't win the GOP primary, the deficit will be in the $20-$30 Trillion range with whoever is President after they are finished their term regardless if it is Obama or one of the other GOP candidates.
I completely understand what you're saying, you're not saying it's good to be fake, you're just saying many in society are complete fucking clueless idiots that could be sold property on Mars by some clean-cut, well-spoken, lying suit guy.
