At the Meadowlands yesterday,or should I call it MSG west. The arena is at least 30% Ranger fans flying the banners and everyone in Ranger gear.. Even on tv I heard you can hear and see the Ranger fans in full forse. In typical Jersey fashion it is all talk with nothing to back it up fan wise. When the measely few dare to come in to MSG there not rooting for there team after to long .There 2 busy fighting off popcorn and beer ,and running in the bathroom to get out of there Devil Jersies. .
Kings are lucky there 3000 miles away ,because the LA flakey fans would not want any part of this. , that being said you will still see more Ranger shirts out west than you will see LA gear at teh best home ice in Hockey MSG

Meadowlands, Prudential Center, "Goodrich, Goodyear".
point is that Rangers @ Devils have been defacto Rangers home games since the Devils MOVED to New Jersey because it's easier for a non-season ticket holding Ranger fan to get a Devils game ticket than @ MSG.

So what you're saying is that there are more fans of an original six team living with an hour of Manhattan than there are for a team that has been around (in New Jersey) for all of 30 years? Wow. Shocking I tell ya. Who would have thunk it. Of course, I'm sure the Rangers would trade some of their current fairweather fans (of which there are MANY) for the success the Devils have had since 1990 or so. I guess that is why Rangers fans always have their panties in a bunch. Success breeds contempt.

I think Rangers organization is one that has actually benefited from the salary cap. sounds dumb to say that about a "rich" team BUT they used to chase every over the hill, over priced free agent in the market and NOW they are forced to develope players. that has paid off with the likes of Callahan, Girardi, Anisimov, Del Zotto and Marc Staal not to mention Lundqvist.
many of these young talents would have been shipped somewhere else for some high dollar "name" piece of garbage in the past.
about the only high dollar "free agents" on the team are Gaborik and Richards which is a GOOD thing for the team long term. about the only "fly in the ointment" is that some like Del Zotto will be coming off initial rookie contracts end of 2013 season and they will have to pony up with out breaking the cap BUT, overall, the Rangers seem to have the core of their team set at least thru the 2013-14 season

Did you notice all of the recent championship banners while you were there?
Bada Binger Of course I noticed all the banners in Jersey thats more the reason why the stands should be full of devi fansUs long time ranger fans shouldnt have been able to even get so many tickets. It doesent happen in Philly it doesent happen in Long island. The real fair weather fans are the Devil fans/ With all the lean Ranger years the garden sells out every single game they always traveled well even when out matched.

did you ever think it has something to do with the location? The length of time they have been around? They sell tons of season tickets to companies that give them away to clients. Fortunatley, I make out like a bandit and get at least a half dozen sets of free tickets a year through my friends company. It is an easy commute with the Railroad pulling right into MSG. It is the perfect location in my opinion.
NYR have a dedicated fan base no doubt, but to gauge the loyalty of Devil fans on the amount of NYR fans at "The Rock" is stupid. If you cant get your tickets through the box office, then their is a site called Stubhub if you never heard of it. I am pretty sure they dont ask what team you will be rooting for before they sell you the tickets. If you want to pay, then you go. I know my friends sold their season tickets at MSG for Game 1 and made a decent amount of money. Does that mean they are not loyal? They have had season tickets for 20 years now.
As a loyal Devils fan, I only go to about 6 or 7 games a year. For me personally, It comes down to money and what I can afford. I also go to Islander games when free tickets come available. If it's for free, it's for me!!!!!
With that being said, I will be there for Game 6 assuming Devils can get back on track in the next 2 games
I hope the NHL forum doesnt become like the rest of the forums on this site. This is the one forum that there is hardly any trash talking and people just offer opinions on games and we all try to make money.
Enjoy the rest of the ride to the cup fellas,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Your statement lost all credibility by stating they play at the Meadowlands. I wish they didn't move to the Hood or I'd go to more games. It was so much more convenient to take Route 3 to Continental and tailgate.
I used to go to every weekend game and now I get out there maybe once or twice a year.
A lot of Ranger fans are arrogant and think they're hot shit b/c they have a fan base that an Original 6 team should. It's sickening to see how obnoxious they are by parading around the arena like they own the place. For that reason, if the Devils were playing the Anti-Christ, I'd root for the Anti-Christ.
