Trust me, I've watched every snap where Nick Kwiatkowski was on the field. Gotta be the most under appreciated guy on that D.
To fill in for Roquon Smith and Danny Trevathon in at 2 different LB rolls is hard. To do it at a high level is even harder. And keep in mind, he played a lot of snaps while Akiem Hicks was not on the field to plug up the middle.
I never seen the guy miss a tackle or miss an assignment. He takes on fullbacks well. His motor is on "high" all the time. He was effective on blitzes. When a QB was scrambling after a play broke down, he was great at spying the qb while maintaining zone coverage. He knew exactly when to pull the trigger and go after the qb.
He displayed great instinctive traits on the football field.
I'll try to find some video clips of his play if anyone hasn't seem him play.
Any die hard Bears fans here can attest to my evaluation.

How many games before Mitch gets benched for Foles...or do the Bears let Mitch play out the season regardless being its his 4th season and they need determine if he is the future beyond that and Bears will give him the full season..

The offensive line will get both of them killed. Mitch can at least escape with his legs. And I think that this year he will use them unlike 2019 where he tried to be a pocket passer. He's only playing for his career.
The Bears have a glaring need at LT and RG. Also their RT was below average.

The Bears meanwhile sign Barkavious Mingo to a 1 year 1.2 million dollar contract. To be a reserve LB. This makes no sense, they say Kwiatkowski was "too expensive" and then do this? When he wasn't starting, he was a stalwart special teamer.
Ryan Pace is shaping up to be one of the worst gm's the Bears have had. His only 1st rd picks were...Kevin White, Mitch Trubisky and Leonard Floyd. 2 of which aren't on the team anymore, one isn't in the nfl. They didn't have a 1st rd pick in 2019 nor 2020, but to his credit have Khalil Mack. But man, he disappeared many times last year.
He let Adrian Amos go to the Packers, and took their trash in Ha Ha Clinton Dix. He's now on the Cowboys. We had the best Nickel Corner in the NFL in Bryce Callahan in 2018, albeit it be injury that did him in late, we picked up Buster Skrine in his place who led the nfl in penalties every year that he's been in the league.
Ryan Pace's band aids have been wet.
The next wet bandaid is TE Jimmy Graham. Give me a break. If Russell Wilson and Aaron Rodgers couldn't utilize him, is Trubisky or Foles going to? Please, he's 33 years old and has had a bum shoulder since his last days in New Orleans. Eric Ebron was available and the Steelers got him for cheaper. Pure idiocy imo.
I'll set the O/U of starts by both Graham and Burton combined at 9.5, have fun.

Graham was purely a product of the Saints offensive machine...i wouldnt want him on my team at this point in his career.
If Foles shows any sign of life in training camp, its very likely he will win over the locker room and the team will give max effort when hes behind center...making it the obvious choice to bench Mitch and walk away from arguably one of the worst qb draft picks since Ryan Leaf.

I agree PB. I'm just going to say that with a terrible O line any QB behind it is going to have a rough time. Especially with Nagy's poor run scheme. Single back with only 5 blockers(3 of whom suck) produced the worst run game in the nfl last year. Last I checked, Jimmy Graham doesn't run block well. Neither does Trey Burton. Passing situations were predictable last year, and defenses pinned their ears back. Charles Leno Jr at LT was a human turnstile. He led all LT's in holding and offsides penalties.
Looking back at 2018, Vic Fangio and that Bears defense were the unsung heroes. Vic is gone. Chuck Pagano is good in his own right, but they've lost some key pieces since. We'll see what Robert Quinn brings to the table.

The Bears let Trey Burton go. I have to set the new o/u to 7, -115 both sides.

Love it. Think Lamb goes to the Broncos at 15 or maybe the Niners at 13.

sac you'll appreciate this, one of my books left 'Burrow to be first pick' up until 730est, after most had taken off board, once Adam Schefter posted his tweet. I hammered it at -4500. within a matter of minutes it went to -5500, to -10000, to off board. I'm still nervous tho, lol, had to lay a huge, insane number.

Before you bet on the Bears this Sunday, just know that their starting kicker got hurt. Robert Quin hasn't participated in any practices and has a knee issue. Khalil Mack has a knee issue. Nose Tackle Eddie Goldman is sitting out the season. Aikeem Hicks has a quad issue. David Montgomery is hurt. Both QB's have sucked in practice. Good Luck
So 24-10 Bears? Isn't that the way the NFL works?
Thanks for the excellent thread!
You learn more from losing than winning. You learn how to keep going.
