It's not that he had a great game but he had a very solid game.
The point is that he clearly outplayed the "best QB ever" despite getting no hype the entire week leading up to the game.
Wilson is legit.
Not sold at all on him. He has a great line, great defense, solid receivers and a good running game.
I have zero doubt that like others before him, defenses will figure him out and lets see how he does when his specific skills are required to carry a team. The team won the game, the defense won the game.
I was looking late 3rd Q and the stats showed something less than 300 yds of total offense and over 40 pts..that is quite telling about what won this game.

Wilson had the 8th best qb rating in SB history............I could see why some wouldn't be sold on him.
What exactly did he have to do in this game?
The defense scored more points than the offense needed to.
These futuristic threads are funny, we have seen this exact thing before and usually it pans out the same way..when a team is strong people start tossing out QB elite garbage and when that team weakens so does the finish on this awesome QB who starts to struggle.
Put Wilson on an average to below average team, does he elevate a team on his own merits? THAT is the measure of elite..not what we saw last night.

The defense played a big part yesterday game but it was also Wilson being able to move thr ball down field with ease . Lynch was contained yesterday that was the only highlight for Denver defense . Wilson looked like a star last night . He was practically perfect on his 3rd down conversion . This kid won the starting job last year and led Seahawks to playoff . And in his 2nd year wins thr Super Bowl. He still young and think he will be elite in near future . If he wins again next year no doubt you can say he's up there . This kid manage games . Has smarter iq than andrew luck or rg3 in football .

You lost me at Seattle has a great O line and solid receiving corps. With Percy 4 the majority of the year this would be a different argument, but strictly looking at this past year and heck even the year before at his receivers, not many would agree with either of those 2 assertions. Injuries played a role on the line and with the receivers, but pass blocking was below average for the majority of the year so No!

You guys talk all this trash about Wilson but guess what. He's the Super Bowl Champion and it doesn't matter what you say!
If Tim Tebow was QB of the Seahawks yesterday, the Seahawks still would have won by 28+. Any QB in the NFL or Canadian League. 2nd string, 3rd string it doesnt matter. They would have destroyed this Broncos team. Any thoughts to the contrary is just misinformed and nonsensical.

Correct..
Likely most any starting QB in the league would have managed that game to a win given what the defense did..

"Broadway Joe" beat probably one of the worst QB to start a SB... Earl Morrall while one of the best was sitting on the bench most of the game with a sore elbow... Johnny U..

With all due respect, You are dead wrong.
His skills are the only reason they beat the 49ers to get to the superbowl. and he did his job better than most QBs in this league, He didnt take one sack, he didnt throw one pick, he threw a td pass, in my opinion he played a perfect game and he has won many games based on his skill set, the tampa game comes to mind when they were down 21-0

Whats not to be sold on? The guy does everything he is asked for. He can't transcend a system. Is that what it would take. Take him away from Seattle and put him on say Miami I don't think he can play in their offense. It's not like we don't already know this. However in his current situation and on that team he does everything asked of him. He is the ultimate game manager. Intelligent and doesn't turn it over. If anyone is looking for him to move to the level of Tom or Peyton or even Drew they will be sadly disappointed, because its not him. If you are looking for a class act that can keep your team in a position to win week after week and with the right talent win a super bowl than this is him. There is nothing to prove this is it. The guy is a super bowl winner and certainly better than the 2 who were in it last year.

Awfully harsh assessment on a 25 year old, 2nd year QB who just won a Super Bowl. He is still growing into the position and stacks up well, stats-wise, with any QB in their first 2 years in the NFL. In fact, he is better than most.
Right now, I would put him, without a doubt, in the top 8 QB's in the league(Rodgers, Brees, Brady, P. Manning, Rivers, Roethlisberger, Luck). Several of those above him will be out of the NFL in 3-4 years, when Wilson is in his prime. He will be a top flight QB for a long time.
He is already elite. Just needs the career and stats to back it up now. Which he will likely accomplish over the next 10 or so years.

Exactly
To say this kid had nothing to do with Seattles success is silly.......& comparing him to Tebow, or to say Tebow could've won yesterday, is an insult to Wilson. They don't get there with Tebow.......or kapernick.......or Griffin.......or Taneyhill......etc.

HUH? It isn't his fault they have an unreal defense. Thats not his fault.
Last year in the NFC playoffs against the Falcons...Down 27-7 with 2 minutes left in the 3rd quarter, Russell Wilson proceeded to do this.
- 10-14, 220 yards, 1 passing TD
- 1 rushing TD
- go ahead 60 yard TD drive, with 30 seconds left. Bringing his team back to go ahead 28-27
Lets not forget he has 2 4th quarter playoff comebacks (should be 3 if they dont lost that game to Atlanta.) 6 Career playoff passing TDs, 1 int (on a hail mary last play of the game) and a rushing TD
What more do you want from the guy, to go upto the defense and tell them to chill out so he can pad his stats?

If you don't think RW is one of the most prepared, clutchest, best young QBs in the league, you either haven't seen him enough or you are a 49ers fan.
All my friends rip on me because of how much I love this guy, even when he was on NC State. Those same friends were also all on the Broncos yesterday, who is laughing now?
I made a prop bet with my one friend this year. I had Seahawks over 10 wins (10 is a push) Needless to say, when he paid off his debt his promised me he would never bad mouth Wilson again, and learned his lesson.
