During a Friday appearance on ESPN's "Mike & Mike in the Morning" radio show, Belichick spoke highly of quarterback Tom Brady.
"I'm glad he's our quarterback," Belichick said. "There's nobody I'd rather have."
Belichick then referenced 2008, when Brady missed virtually the entire season with a knee injury.
"I'm also proud of the fact that without Tom Brady, we still won 11 games in 2008," he said. "So, we have a football team. We have a good program here. It's bigger than any of us individually. But collectively we're competitive."
By contrast, the Colts are 0-11 without quarterback Peyton Manning.
That is what Belichik said earlier this week. Hmmm. First of all, he has a valid point and I do not care what anyone else says, Manning is the greatest QB ever. No other QB has been so valuable to a team to go from sure playoff bound team and possible super bowl contender to 0-11 dregs with the loss of one player. That player is the MVP of all time. Period.
Secondly, Colts have won the Suck for Luck sweepstakes. I cannot see anyone touching them so they have no more incentive to lose.
Thirdly, the Patriots have no incentive in this game. Manning is not there, what the hell do they have to play for?
Fourthly, Colts have fired the D coordinator (who is a moron) and replaced him. Coyer sucks and this would seem to be a good move for them.
Finally, who wants to get 21 points in the NFL, not very many as 68% of covers members on the Patriots.
I by gambling rule number 73 have to take the Colts, wish me luck, I may need it.
