My play of the week is Dallas + the 3. I can't get off this train yet cuz I feel this team is SB bound. Dallas will have it's way w/ Minny's secondary and kill the LB's underneath. They will mix it up just enough to move the ball w/ ease on this over rated defense. On the other side Ware and Co. will rattle Favre into mistakes and Minny will have problems running the ball. Let's be real ... Minny would like to believe the game vs. the Giants was a tuneup but let's face it the Giants packed it in some time ago and were god awful in 2nd 1/2 season. Minny has not faced much in the way of competition in some time now and really did not look impressive down the stretch. Dallas is red hot, clickin in all phases in meaningful games all while beating strong competition and dominating in the process. This has the makings of a Dallas win by a comfortable margin and I'd be shocked if the outcome was any different. They were the most impressive looking team last week hands down in all phases and i'll take em large vs a dormant and over rated minny squad that failed to do what they do best in not being able to impose their will w/ their once dominating ground game. This is what's needed to win this kind of game vs Dallas but unfortunately for Minny it's what they lack right now. 5 Units Dallas +3

Splooge that chicks picture you have is smokin HOT! Great post you made! Agree 100%! Agree with taking Dallas great points! Vikings 1-3 in last 4 games! Love the other under dogs but the only favorite i trust to cover is the chargers!

Spades leaning that way right now. I'm going back and forth with sd/ny. I'm going to wait & see what line does. I just locked in ARIZ +7. I loved them last week and I love them as much here. Warner can get rattled by blitz but i feel they will be able to run it enough to counter. Warner is magic & is 2nd to none in red zone where this game will be decided. Ariz will make the most of their red zone possessions. As far as Ariz being tired after a shootout game let me just say this. A game like last week takes a lot less out of a team as opposed to a more physical 3 yds and a cloud of dust type game where both teams grind it out beginning to end with 9-10 play drives so I'm not worried in the least about a let down by Arizona. Saints have been off for some 4 weeks to this point having not played well since TB. How do you go into playoffs and put it all together with this much time off since your last solid effort?? Answer is you don't.

dallas really hasnt played anyone great all season. when they played the saints, the saints were beat up and full of injuries. dallas beat atl, seattle, philli (twice), wash (twice), oak..... dallas lost to green bay (playoff contender) and san diego (playoff contender) dallas cant handle the heavy hitter.
these 2 teams a very similar. it will be a great game.

Dallas beat Philly twice road and home and Saints on the road in 3 of the last 4 they have played so if these playoffs teams do not qualify as legit contenders, who does??? Yes they lost a tight one to SD at home but it was a FG game. Let's talk about weak competition with Minny who faced a belly up Giants squad who laid down like dogs just as they have done previous few weeks chicago twice, seattle and detroit. The only legit team they beat was cincy and you can even call that a questionable win the way they finished up the season. How were the saints beat up in dallas game?? Brees, PT, Bell, colston, meachum, devrey and even lance moore played in this game so how were they beat up?? They went into this game churping how important an undefeated season was to them and they got manhandled. This was nothing but a better and more physical team going into N.O. and winning the game straight up. Dallas can't handle the heavy hitter?? From what i've seen in games that mattered Minny has done very little w/ their smash mouth game most of the season and went more to a passing game then they would have wanted because they failed to run the ball like they once did w/ ease. This year if anything told us that either there are offensive line issues or All Day Peterson isnt All That. We will see what the old man has Sunday because this game will be in his hands for certain as Dallas will shut down the run....i smell a few ints. With the way Dallas is playing on offense they present major problems for Minny. The play action is working to perfection and Romo is in a comfort zone he has not seen in a long while. They are crashing the edges w/ their running game and picking defenses apart underneath w/ dumpoffs, screens, TE over middle setting it up for major success deep whenever they want which spells matchup isses for Minny secondary. Dallas O vs Minny D to me is the biggest mismatch on paper and the one which will decide this game period. BOL w/ your play!

I did an about face with the Indy Balt game where I was making a strong case for Balt but I've suddenly realized after much internal debate that with just a couple things happening, Colts will blow out Balt. Too much needs to happen for Balt to keep it close and or win so I'm going with Indy -6.5 for 4 units and here is why.
The one thing that needs to happen for this game to work in Indy's favor and that's an early lead which I think will happen. Once Indy can control the tempo of the game it will force Balt to get out of their gameplan a bit and have to throw more which will benefit Indy defense and Mathis/Freeney can become difference makers. If Balt can establish the run early and often it will change the game completely which is why an Indy lead is essential if not real early at least 7-10 by half. Balt defense if they are smart will play straight up man and a little cover 2 w/ out much trickery. If they try and alter their defense in any way (i think they will) It will fall into Peyton';s lap and he'll be able to shred em to ribbons. The only trickery Balt should use is w/ Lewis coming off corner on occasions w/ blitz but I see them getting stupid w/ corner and safety blitzes which will kill them. They need to keep the game underneath/in front of them and frustrate manning into long drives to have a chance. Obviously Indy needs to limit the running game of Balt and I think they will gamble w/ safety help trusting they will get pressure from the ends. A case can be made for either side here as a lot of things can happen to alter the outcome here I just came to a conclusion recently it will go in Indy's favor coupled with the fact the world is on Baltimore. Still on fence w/ SD/Jets but leaning heavily Jets at the moment

Man every time i look at that hot chicks picture you have for some reason i think of katie holmes when she was young and smokin! I don't know if the colts can just turn it on all of a sudden it's been a while since they played a real game? But also think if colts get a lead early i am in trouble! Betting on rice! Take the chargers big! I see the chargers scoring 2 touchdowns early and making sanchez win with his arm and go away from the run. Sproles and tomlinson in the open field with screens and that kind of speed! Rivers is a mad man on a mission! Real bad match up for the jets to keep up with!

I hear ya Spades loud and clear w/ SD and maybe I do an about face there as well. It is the last game of weekend and will have the luxury of waiting for early results. I am fearful of the Jets being able to hold up underneath and over the middle against sproles and gates no doubt. Without question if SD has any amount of success in these 2 areas it will spell trouble for the Jets. Another thing going strong for SD is Hardwick coming back to their O line which is so huge. Rivers has big success vs blitz and has highest passer rating in NFL on blitz plays which is also scary considering Jets blitz 10% more than the highest blitzing team in NFL at a 56% clip I believe over 1/2 of their def plays!!! Sick!!! They got themselves to #1 rated defense doing this although I think the stat is somewhat distorted since they have such a ball control offense which runs at a higher % than anyone in league so there's a lot to look at and digest in this matchup. I just pointed out every reason to play SD but something is still telling me Jets can stay in this game if able to control ball and keep Sanchez from having to make big plays. I do think he has progressed leaps and bounds since early season and has learned not only to protect the ball but playing within the system and not trying to be a hero on busted plays. I love the jets running game and their offensive line vs SD's defense who has improved vs run but hasnt faced a run game like this. Greene has added another dimension to their rush attack that they didnt have earlier and can be a game changer. Sanchez has found his tight end and is very capable and accurate off play action of late coupled with the fact he's playing in his environment on West Coast just gives me a feeling Jets are very much in this game start to finish if a few things go right for them. SD has become comfortable playing in tight games and have not really blown anybody of quality so I think they could be satisfied to be in a grind it out game which favors the Jets. I'm still not home yet w/ a Jets play as you see but I do have plenty of time and may see how the weekend progresses or hopefully not digresses but again still leaning heavy Jets...Have some time though. Thanks for your input & BOL w/ your plays!

Definitely a dog weekend...balty, arizona and dallas definitely are capable of winning straight up.
Really think Ravens are flying under the radar...look closely at their stats and wouldn't be surprised at all if they win a close one at Indy...look for Ravens for the outright win
Might be a homer pick, but Chargers have the best chance of a blow out...Sanchez is great but Jets had their big game last week and are ripe for a let down...asking a rookie to do it again this weekend on the west coast is alot...yeah I know he is a so cal dude but still...SD has too many offensive weapons...Revis is a stud but he is matched up with 6' 5'' Jackson...along with Floyd and Naanee both tall receivers...you have a backfield with LT and Sproles...not to mention Gates...only concern is defense..but Rivera has the defense playing well...Statistically, they ranked 10th against the run over the final 10 games.

surferdude--i was right there with ya on Balt just a few dys ago but i've been breaking this one down over and over then taking into consideration how intense Indy is practicing this week w/ pads and hitting and the must win big mentality this team and organization must have since they laid down for their fans last 2 weeks sacrificing the undefeated season to have a better chance at a Suberbowl run I changed my mind. I gotta believe this time it's going to pay off for them. The Colts gave up an undefeated season for bigger things and since it was in their grasp as we all know they were going to beat the Jets and would have beaten Bills week 17 I have to give them benefit of the doubt it's going to make a difference. I am the one who always takes the team on the roll going in and usually love the dogs coming without the week off and the trend is certainly shifting to these teams being successful this round. I just have a feeling Indy has to win this game big and somehow beat their nemesis SD next weekend IF they get by the Jets and the critics will be silenced. I think they have more pressure on them then any of the 8 playing but I'll take Manning with that pressure. I really feel Balt will be forced to throw and mathis/freeney will play a big role in the game and also see indy defense or specials making a huge play in this game. The boos will be plenty if the Colts get down more than a score in this game and they know it...pressure will be huge and my moneys on Manning. Just feel it. Lotta SD backers everywhere and you all have a reason to be. They are red hot and have the talent advantage hands down. I'm still undecided here but leaning hard Jets as i've said. I love the running game and the way they play defense coupled with the fact SD is comfortable in close games and seem to play a lot of them. To get more than a score here is a lot imo. GL S dude! Thx & GL Rush & Dovjak

Splooge - Good points about Indy's motivation...someone once said betting against P. Manning is like burning your money...but Indy in a blow out I can't see...honestly, me and a buddy (football stat whiz) capped this game at Balty -3 (on pure stats only)...public perception based on playoff seeding is badly distorting these lines.
Like your play of the week...Dallas +2.5...line should be Dallas -3...biggest statistical mismatch of the weekend.
