his all time record for interceptions would not be attributed to being a gambler, but because he is not able to properly read defenses and makes questionable plays with his low wonderlic score...

I see where you're going, but his more than fair share of great plays and TDs make up for his INTs. Based on that alone, I disagree. 22 might not be great, but still higher than the likes of Marino and Kelly, both of which are HOFers.

Also, his constant retiring/unretiring schtick would be seen as "hurting his team" and "not good for the game of football" despite his being a great player.

Young - Law degree later on Brady - U of M grad Smith - From Wiki... earned a bachelor's degree in economics in two years[3] with a 3.74 GPA,[4] having matriculated with 64 credit hours,[5] and began work on a master's degree in the field before being drafted. Eli - Sons of NFL QB so had good/stable background/upbringing, 3.44 GPA Elway - Stanford grad

He also leads the league in all time wins...and averages 10 a year over his career exculding his first year because he threw 5 passes for atlanta...
He was the 3rd best qb in the league last year at 40..have you ever thought maybe his green bay teams were crap for a lot of years? the same team that favre took to the championship game went 6 and 10 the next year, improved last year with a lot of new players.
Here is something else to tell you how stupid your facts are, yes he leads in interceptions but his career interception percentage is only 3.2..with 5.1 td percentage....elways has a 3.1 int percentage and 4.1 td percentage..
He was thrown the most passes by a long shot of course, and the most tds, he leads in picks but his percentage is not bad..
Stop listening to the media and look at actualy facts..he made a play in san fran last year that very few QB's can make aviod the rush throw the strike to the back of the endzone...just a fluke? well he has done it a lot of times....actually watch the games it might help.

how many superbowls for the marino/kelly list?
how many superbowls for the first four people on the other list?

Favre has a superbowl and played well in both ...and if your cutting down Jim kelly and dan marino for not winning superbowls, your football knowledge is nill.

How do Fav-re's great plays cancel out his picks? I can think of three of his picks that have been the last offensive play of his team, in the playoffs, that ended their seasons (and one against the eagles in the playoffs that put the game into OT and the loss). So basically he ended his teams seasons four times with his "gambling/inaccuracy/stupid play"
Personally I want to see him come back so I can watch another playoff choke.
As far as the original post, you are dead on. The media plays up the whole hillbilly thing so he can be a hero to people who need to buy a white mans jersey.

He did win a superbowl and played well in another ...He carried a lot of those packers teams.....Manning was asked to carry his team in the superbowl and threw a pick for a TD...
He also had his team in fg position before the coach blew it allowing 12 men on the field by making two calls...but that doesn't fit in your senario...so lets forget he had his team in postion to kick a long fg after his injury and all the fumbles...
Do you idiots even watch the games or skip to the favre put down stuff.
