There is plenty of value in this game tonight, and hopefully, plenty of money to be made. Saskatchewan is playing at home and they are 3 games behind Calgary for first in the West. It's do or die for Saskatchewan tonight as they cannot afford to fall 4 games back and lose twice to Calgary. Conversely, Calgary does not have the same desperation given their lead in the standings even if they do lose. The city has been buzzing all week for this game, and I fully expect Saskatchewan to show up. As a result, I will gladly take the +3.5. One inportant side note: History is on the side of the Roughriders in this spot, as since 2003 Saskatchewan is 15-3 ATS when a home dog.
I also like the Under (55.5) in tonight's game. If the weather holds as of this posting (and the weather network says that it will), we will be looking at a 25km - 35km wind this evening (a NW wind). This has the effect of going "kitty-corner", and for all intents and purposes, it means that one team will always be going against a firm wind. This factor will lead to a greater emphasis on the ground game, and although both teams are successful running the ball, they are both also good at stopping it. In the end, I believe the increased ground attacks will chew more clock, so I like the score to stay low. Nevertheless, I will wait before game time before locking it in, as who can ever truly trust a weather man.
I will not claim that these are LOCKS, nor will I encourage anyone to "tail" these picks, but if you're looking for a little bit more action tonight, it can be found in Saskatchewan.
